Selenarctans on Mars!

At precisely 8:30AM today (one hour after dawn, Martian time), Captian Rey Ventura stepped out of the Lander to place the first Selenarctan footprints into the Martian surface.

In the internationally-televised event, Ventura responded to views outside the Lander's open hatch with a simple, "Wow." Descending down the ceremonial ladder (for unloading, the ladder will be replaced by a ramp) and after preforming a touch-down-then-hop-back-up maneuver identical to that of Carlos Aquino on the Moon Landing, Ventura touched down a second time with the words "These truly are small steps for a man, dwarfed by the great leaps they represent for mankind."

Over the next two months, the 12 crew members still in orbit aboard the Mars Rocket will gradually transition ground-side and two months after that finish construction of the permanent base, detailed here.

Untouched? We've been there for a while.

"Nevertheless, it is still a marvelous achievement. One I hope Australia can duplicate someday. I congratulate Selenarctos for this monumental step forward."

We thank the above nations for their words of support.

To Marscurian Pakistani:

The return trip will not take place for several years yet, but we shall mark a series of rocks for shipment to you upon return.
