OOC: Closed to me and Amyante.

Rusa MacNell walked into the room and looked at the Zargathian SecDef. He flashed and smile and walked up to the Zargathian to shake hands with him, then sat down at the table.

"As you know, I am here to discuss defense relations between our two nations. First I'd like to discuss the 200 Marine detachment."

In the room Rusa would find Lee Vu Yong, Lieutenant General and Commander of the Zargathian Rangers, 200 of them currently located within Troinia. Yong sat down across the table after shaking hands with the diplomat, listening to what he had to say before replying with a nod of her head and a single word.

- "Continue."

Being one of the Rangers herself she believed in not using many words if a few sufficed, a belief she had successfully tried to spread amongst her subordinates as well, on duty anyway. Off duty they could talk however much they liked, but it would be counterproductive -- not to mention potentially dangerous -- if they were to get chatty during a mission. It's not that she disliked diplomacy, she just happened to like concision better.

OOC: Rusa isn't an ambassador, he is my nation's Secretary of Defense.

IC:

"I think that we need to map out a way to get soldiers from Troina to Zargathia within a matter of days or hours, not weeks. Also our SF soldiers need to do some joint-training. What would you say to that?"

OOC: My bad, sorry. Hadn't heard of the guy before ^^;

IC:

Yong thought for a moment, knowing that Zargathia only had little sea access, so in the event of trouble a troop ship would likely be too predictable to any enemy forces.

- "Zargathia is allies with the SST, i'd say hop in through there. Alternatively you could be airdropped in, but the plane would need to cross PRC or Rebel Army land so that might not be the best option depending on the scenario."

She crossed her arms, tilting her head as she looked at the Secretary of Defense.

- "As for the joint training, we would welcome it, both here and in Zargathia. Name the place, we'll be there."

"We have good relations with the SST and we'll make sure that they will let us through in case you are attacked. Also let's train here in Troina, near the Northern Wilderness in Fukoka Province."

The Zargathian General nodded in agreement as she heard the Troinians had good relations with the SST. It would make reinforcements and resupplying all the more efficient, not to mention that the tactical disadvantage of Zargathia only having one port area would be lessened also.

- "Sounds good to me."

And with that out of the way, Yong wanted to bring up another thing her troops had noticed when training.

- "When we were training we heard the locals talk about a rebellion in a few provinces. Should my troops encounter rebels what would you want us to do, engage or remain uindetected?"

OOC: Decided to discontinue that rebellion

EDIT:

"No, that rebellion broke up after a while as most people didn't support the extremist elements. Now, though, we'd like you to train with our recon teams in three days. Two Chinooks will pick you up at 10 am to transport you to Fort Barney, where your training with your Troinan counterparts will begin. How does that sound?"

OOC: Don;t ret-con it...just say it broke apart or something, for continuity's sake.

OOC: Oh btw, one Ranger equals 50 soldiers, there's a breakdown in my Factbook (click sig to get there) ;)

IC:

For a moment, Yong thought on the question, thinking it would be good training if her troops were to walk to Fort Barney instead. Still, that would include giving her information about where said fort was located, and though she had access to that information in Zargathia she didn't believe Troina to be that free with information, particularly after the latest attacks.

- "We'll be ready and waiting tomorrow morning."

She resisted the urge to smirk, looking forward to seeing how her own troops held out against natives of the area. It would be a good way to test how their adaptability was doing, as well as seeing what level the Troinian military was at.

The Next Day

At 10 am, two Chinooks picked up that Zargathian soldiers and transported them to Fort Barney. There they met Bravo Company of the 2nd Airborne Division, led by Capt. John Jackson.

He walked up to Lee Vu Yong and said "Hi, my name's John Jackson, commander of Bravo Company, 2nd Airborne. I heard that we'll be training together for the next two weeks or so. What's your name?"

Yong was organizing her troops almost as soon as she had jumped out of the helicopter. Though they honestly needed little in the way of orders to organize themselves, it was still something she, being the commanding officer, preferred to oversee herself. As she was doing this, she noticed a Troinian approach, and raised an eyebrow as she was addressed with 'Hi'. As she glanced at his chest and shoulders to identify his rank, her left hand brushed past the hilt of the sword at her hip as she appeared to consider something, but decided to salute instead.

- "Lieutenant General Lee Vu Yong, commander of the Rangers. What kind of exercises are we looking at, commander?"

"Well right now we're going to do a six-mile run. After that we're gonna be doing some target and hand-to-hand combat practice and after that we'll jump out of a Chinook."

He smiled at her. "Whadda ya think?"

Yong couldn't help but smirk as she heard the exercises Jackson had planned for her Rangers. It seemed like she wasn't the only one that was trying to get a feel for those they would be training with these next two weeks.

- "It will suffice."

She then turned to the Rangers, whom by now were all waiting on their next command.

- "Run six, full pack!"

She turned back to Jackson, picking her own pack up from the ground and slinging it across her back. She was a Ranger too, and that meant she was not exempt to being treated the same way as the others -- something that had been regretfully lacking in most countries.

- "Lead the way, commander."

"Alright!"

The group began running on a flat path that soon turned into a steep hill, afterwards the hill then descended and a small series of twists and turns began.

The Rangers ran at a deliberate and controlled pace, slowing down only a little when the ground turned into a steep hill, though that was understandable given the sometimes 50º slope of the climb. The descent was slower as well, but that was for safety purposes as once someone lost their footing, it would take a while for him or her to stop rolling or sliding downhill. During the twists and turns and the slopes of a lesser grade, the normal pace was resumed again.

When they had reached the end of the course, Yong had barely even broke a sweat, much like most of her troops. This could largely be due to the bands of cotton they had tied around their heads as headbands, intended to absorb sweat before the cold would be able to affect the moisture it would leave on their faces.

"OK everyone, get a partner and face them," Capt. Jackson yelled. He went and faced Yong.

"OK, fight!"

Jackson quickly went and tried to trip Yong, he then followed up with two punches to the chest and also a punch at the head.

Yong raised an eyebrow as the order to fight had been given, and spun to face Jackson. She managed to avoid being tripped by grabbing the Captain in an attempt to trip him instead, but he had anticipated it and stepped back to break the lock. The two punches were blocked by a low guard, and the punch to her exposed head would be just the thing she had been waiting for.

As Jackson took the bait, she dropped to one knee, rolling under his punch while aiming a leg sweep at Jackson's knees and chest in a scissor kick, using one hand to balance herself. Regardless of the results, she'd pull her legs in quickly to follow up by planting both her heels firmly into Jackson's abdomen, hopefully before he recovered. After that, she'd assume a low, mobile stance and wait for him to attack her again.
