I am aware of the rule that no two nations are allowed to be on the same network. I was wondering how this would work if I were to log into my CN nation from my Universities internet network. As I have been logging on for quite a while on the network and having now remembered the rule i fear my nation may get deleted.
So basically. Am i allowed to log on at my University? And if not please don't delete my nation. -------------------- |

I think you will be ok if you never login there again, but lets see what the mods have to say about it.

You can log in from university as long as no one else there has a CN account as as there's like 26k nations on CN and seeing as there's 6.5-7bn people in the world, the chances of there being someone else at your uni with a CN account is unlikely, however it's still a risk that you take.

The chances are much higher than that of 26k / 6bn. But they still are ridiculous, iirc somebody mentioned that if you have your own dorm, their should be a secure ethernet line in your room that has a unique IP address.

It varies from university to university, so there's really no definite answer. Generally speaking, if you log in from a dorm you are less likely to run into problems than if you log in from a public place like a university wifi or library. You can ask your university's IT staff how they distribute IP addresses across campus to find out which Internet connections share an IP and which do not.
This gets asked a lot and you can try searching for "University" in the Question Center to see some other responses, but no one can guarantee that your university connection has a unique IP except your own IT department. If you do have access to a non-university network, you may as well just stick to that and stop using the university one. Answered and locked. -------------------- |
