I really want to know. It originally started as a war game, now it's becoming extremely diplomatic. My question is, what does everyone here think the game is for now?
You seem to be here because it is the only possible avenue left where you can fill your delinquent delusions of adequacy.
I'm here to tell you to shut up.

I am here to tell you to get lost. Now stop degrading every thread I make simply because you dislike me.

I think of TE has simply a much harsher version of SE. Where ZIs are more common and the reasons for war more shallow. Throw out the emphasis on diplomacy from SE. I DON"t think that it should be just mindless war. I tried that last round there was no fun in it. Rogues, Raids and ZIs are acceptable rather than being frowned upon heavily, like in SE.

to be honest, like with any other game, it is to be whatever anyone wants it to be. Those !@#$%*ing that it is all about war, that is their opinion. Those !@#$%*ing that it is all about diplomacy, that is their opinion. Frankly, TE will evolve into whatever anyone makes it, whether that be a sped up version of SE or all war or all diplomacy. the only set standard i feel TE should have is the fact that nothing should ever carry over. Grudges, treaties, friendships, and the like should always end with the end of that round. The next round should be seen totally as a clean slate. i would go so far as to say that in all reality, alliances should not carry over into the next round and that every round should have different alliances involved, hopefully with different mixes. to me TE is about making new friends in game and out of game and nothing more. i have met more people in a shorter time playing TE than playing SE. (this is based on the fact that i have played around 3-4 rounds of TE and during that timespan i have met more people in TE than playing SE for that same amount of time)

Regular CN has become boring. Wars have become a thing of the past and are becoming more and more rare. Reps have become incredably insane! It has become more of a economic growth and diplomacy game. To cure the boredom CNTE was created, so that the aspect of war in CN can still be enjoyed. On top of that the goal of CNTE is to become the #1 person in the game....and win a flag .....and a t-shirt or something.

As in all games, I play to win the game!
seriously though, it is all about having fun. If you have fun always being beat up in a 6v1 war, have at it. All you have to do is wear a none AA. If you enjoy diplomacy, found an alliance and work with other alliances trying to get treaties. If you have fun just growing your nation, join a large AA and just collect infra. If you have more fun working with others to achieve a common goal, join a random midsized alliance and get involved. You'll meet new people, possibly some from the other side of the polarized fence of SE.
In any case, it takes all of these types of people to make the world go round. How boring would it be if everyone was always in anarchy and didn't have enough money to actually do anything? How boring would it be if everyone formed their own alliance and there was this massive treaty web that prevented any action from ever happening? How boring would it be if everyone just sat there and grew their nation, not interacting with anyone else? How boring would it be if everyone were in the same alliance?
The thing that makes TE special is that one can have a lulz war here and not ruin what someone has worked on for years. Everyone starts off on an even footing every round so no one can complain about never catching up to the epically huge nations in SE.
This is a game, and everyone knows it is a game. There is nothing immoral about using the the built in war feature. Is it immoral to make another player go bankrupt when they land on you in monopoly just because they have little money? Is it immoral to eliminate another player in Risk just because they are smaller? What's immoral is cheating, just like in any other game. And the mods crack down on that very well IMO.
My only point, is be open minded. There are a variety of ways to play this game to reach the end goal, which varies from person to person. So quit whining, and play the game!
