(PENN) Tehran, current - The Supreme Commander has ordered a dramatic increase to the percentage of budget going towards infrastructure in order to bring better transportation and irrigation access to rural areas of the Empire. Part of the reform of infrastructure is an increase in the number of fuel refineries, power plants, and an expansion of both power and fuel grids as well as increasing refining capacities for Petroleum products. Inspiration for the revised transit network are being taken from the United State's massive highway system as well as the German autobahn. Additionally, an electric train line is being planned between major regional capitols, including between Tehran and Baghdad, Tehran and Damascus, as well as Beghdad and Damascus. A focus is going into alternative fuels in this infrastructure design in order to reduce domestic consumption in order to be able to export more of the drawn oil reserves and to consume less of it.

A sizable increase in technology spending has also been slated, with a portion of that allotted towards military modernization. It is a noted plan of the foreign affairs and trade department to provide discounts to states that allow access to advanced vehicle designs in order to facilitate this modernization process. Focus is also being drawn away from the nuclear arms program in favor of "more practical" and useful military solutions that would better serve Persia in being able to maintain, police, and 'if necessary' expand the Empire in the future. We wish to note that at this time the Empire has announced it has no hostile intentions towards any of its neighbors, despite recent disputes with Israel, and such an expansion would only come as a result of the defense of the Empire. Universities are looking forward to taking advantage of the grants to expand upon their research portfolios and to put the young and brilliant people of the Persian Empire to work in new fields of cutting edge technologies.

(PENN) Tehran - In order to protect domestic wealth, the government is forming the Sovereign Wealth fund using a combination of accessible raw materials, equities purchased from domestic and global markets, and international currencies. The move is anticipated to greatly strengthen the Persian Rial. The banking systems for the formerly distinct allied regions that constitute the Persian Empire are undergoing a centralization process that will bring its reserve system on par with Western Powers, but with additional stability due to extremely tight lending requirements and the influence of the underlying Islamic Culture on how 'lending' is performed.

As part of infrastructure development projects throughout Iran, the government is announcing significant subsidies, funded from the international oil trade to increase the amount of arable land. As part of this project several major aqueduct and channel projects are being considered for areas starting with those easiest to turn arable and progressing to those more and more difficult. The goal is to convert as much land for food production as possible so long as domestic market prices sustain a demand for additional food without crashing the domestic commodities markets to the point farmers cannot sustain themselves on their daily work.. a mistake made by many powers in the West which have since had to subsidize their food production industries to keep farmers in business.
