I was considering this earlier, what history are we simulating that has a occured on our Fantasy Planet before? Before us, were there the nations of the world as we know it today, and we are simply altering the future from the present point that CNRP was made onwards?

For example, did the World Wars happen?
Did the Ice Age happen?
Did the Beatles ever exist?
Did any major historical leaders exist?
But above all; How has humanity in our fantasy world formed itself up to the point where we are now, in our fantasy world.

I don't believe there is currently a pre-determined decision about this, so perhaps we should discuss it?

You're thinking too much.
Now go and have fun not thinking abouut the past of CNRP, because that would require knowledge that we simply don't have, such as that which comes with a degree in history or sociology.

There are several different opinions on this.

1. CNRP splits from RL in 2005
2. CNRP splits from RL right after WWI (The one I personally subscribe to)
3. CNRP splits from RL right after WWII
4. There is no RL history in CNRP

I personally like after WWI, because it would indicate that after WWI, rather than going back to normal, the world continued to war endlessly until what was left of world stability collapsed, and was then rebuilt.

But that's just my opinion, and no one really seems to want to conform to anyone else's system.

From what I understand it, RL happened as normal unless specified by an RPer. The Roman Empire happened, but perhaps it didn't go as far as it did or maybe it went even farther.

I would tend to lean towards 2005/post WWII due to the fact that a range of people field RPK's, Ak-47s, Mi-24's and A-10's and in the case of 2005, F-117's and F-35's.

This. There are other things worth more thought than the past :P.

Lets stick the "do whatever the hell you want but don't go overboard or we send GMs after you" rule on here. :)

Everybody tries to be vague about it. For example, most of the technology we have today is only around because of WW2 and the Cold War after it, yet we have them in CNRP. Nobody talks about how they were made. They're just there. Everyone has a different history. For example, in Slavorussia's history, the 1917 revolution failed. In Tahoe's history, the USA never owned California.

There's never been a British nation in CNRP (well, once I think, but it wasn't as influential as Britain is in RL). What I'm trying to get to is, the history that Planet Bob nations have established is so different from RL history, that the closer you get to present day, events become more uncertain.
