While looking through the wars of the day I came across an alliance I thought had disappeared completely after the WotC. They are still very small in NS and members and I started wondering about all the alliances who are unable to or not interested in bouncing back to previous levels and those who did.

I know two alliances off the top of my head who have bounced back from massive membership and/or NS loss in a one sided war. BAPS bounced back after dropping about 130 of 168 members and over 98% of their NS. I dont have GATOs stats but I know they suffered a massive loss in NS and have done a great job bouncing back.

Did your alliance make a great comeback after a devastating war? Let us know your before and after stats. Tell us why you think your alliance did what many others have failed to do and pull yourself back together.

Long story short, get bragging...

I think VE and maybe Fark would have this category wrapped up.

Essenia hit the head on the nail... Fark got $%&@ed up by GOONS and look at them now. Same with VE.

CSN hit a pretty big loss in the 1V-GATO War, thought arguably not nearly as bad as GATO did.

I would say Fark would be the leader probably.

VE disbanded, and then reformed. It's not at all the same thing as staying together during a massive war and holding together despite very long odds.

Fark definitely wins this, and I think FAN is looking to be a contender if they keep up what has been some fairly steady growth on their part.

VE got $%&@ed up by GOONS... among other WUT alliances, largely at the behest of GGA.

Yea, but they disbanded, whereas Fark stayed in it for the long haul. Not saying VE didn't fight honorably and all that jazz because they did... just a matter of who made the most impressive come back.

Aside from the ones listed above I think NpO should count. Forgetting NS and numbers, NpO's militarization into a powerhouse after their beat down has been nothing but impressive.

I would wait until they prove themselves on the field of battle.

Not to sound conceded or anything, but New Polar Order. We went into the WotC with 650+ members strong, and ended with around 300. I don't recall the other stats, but we lost probably 7-10 million NS, around 30 score, had to pay ridiculous reps, had to rebuild without any help from our bankers, and we still managed to get sanctioned while under terms. We now are the 4th strongest alliance, and we are close to having the largest nuclear stockpile of all. We've done all of this in under a year. Of course, I'm not saying we're the only alliance that's ever made a great comeback. Fark, Legion, and a few others have done good jobs too.

While I don't remember any stats MK has bounced back not once, but twice while paying off, for the time, the largest reps ever (UjW 600m, noCB war 82k tech).

Unless there was tech too in the 600 mil, that was not a record high. Before UJW, we had GWIII, and Legion had to pay 800 mil in reps. That was the largest reps ever at the time. I remember it quite well, as I helped to pay it. (If you did have tech on top of the 600 mil though, just, wow, yeah, that'd be a record all right. :P )

Legion never got back to where she was before numberwise, but she is a lot more organized and gutsy. I daresay in many ways Legion is a lot stronger than before, even if she never did regain her old size.

Not the biggest in absolute terms, but the biggest proportionally probably.

Also to answer this thread, Fark and GATO are perfect examples of a good comeback. I don't think Legion and VE are because Legion isn't anywhere near their pre-GW3 strength and influence even 2.5 years later, and VE only fought WUT for a day before disbanding, then came back when the biggest alliance that hit them was on their knees already. Not that I don't love VE, but their destruction was their own doing. I really think they'd have gotten off if they continued.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Seriously though, gotta be Fark, no doubt.

I think GATO has done a pretty good job of rebuilding in its history. We took a gigantic hit after gw3 and rebuilt to sanction. After the GATO-1v war we lost an incredible amount of members and ns, had a viceroy instilled for months, and are already up to #16 in the sanction race.

Athens is approximately 4 times as strong (by nation strength) as before the noCB war. After the noCB war we were left with around 40% of our members and 25% of our starting NS. So we have gone from 4x to x to 16x over the last year. :awesome:

Though i wasnt Fark during that war ive heard the stories (Fark for 2 years before moving to CSN the other day) and one of the most popular quotes ive heard from The Holy War was that Fark was never supposed to see a nation above 5k NS

The NAAC had a pretty nice comeback after Polar War 2.
