Announcement from TOOL's Hand of Foreign Affairs desk...

I'm proud to announce that TOOL and CCC have taken a step forward in friendship and signed the treaty below. Jarkko came to us more a year ago, he was always hanging out in our channel back then, he later came to join TOOL and the relationship began with a diplomat. We got closer to them and this resulted in the following treaty. I am proud to announce this treaty and look forward to a bright future with CCC.

A Peace, Intelligence and Aid Treaty (PIAT) by and between CCC and TOOL.

Preamble
In the interests of friendship between their esteemed alliances, CCC and TOOL agree to the following terms:

Section I
Both alliances and their respected members shall remain sovereign of each other.

Section II
Neither alliance shall engage in or endorse military action against the other signatory. If a nation is found in violation of this they will be ordered to offer peace and appropriate reparations as agreed upon by both alliances. Defending nations are required to limit retaliation to the level of attacks received should an offending nation refuse to offer peace or refuse to agree on terms of reparations.

Section III
Neither alliance will engage in or endorse espionage against the other.

Section IV
Both alliances and their respective members shall remain civil to each other at all times, especially but not limited to the public forums.

Section V
If either alliance receives information concerning a threat to the other or their allies, the receiving alliance will notify the other signatory as soon as possible and provide the relevant information, keeping the source hidden if chosen.

Section VI
Should either alliance find themselves at war, members are encouraged to provide aid where possible to members of the that signatory, however such action is voluntary. Should Military, Diplomatic, Financial or other forms of Aid be needed by either party they may submit a private request for such aid to the other party. Should the request be denied, a written response should be privately conveyed within 48 hours of the request.

Section VI
Either signatory may terminate this pact at any time; however, the withdrawing alliance must notify the other signatory through diplomatic channels 48 hours prior to this, except when the countersigned has violated Sections II, III or IV.

So a 14-month dream of mine finally becomes reality.

TOOL's relationship with CCC actually started longer ago than that, back when Dragonknight1000 began visiting the alliance in the early days of 2008. He would go on to become among the top 5 diplomats in terms of activity, and CCC noticed this.

Now I personally had joined this world on 18 March 2008 as a CCCer but didn't really stretch out into the world of diplomacy until mid-June. Actually it happened quite by accident. I was interested in TOOL because of DK's activity, so I went over there, and he asked me if I wanted an embassy. I asked the then-MoFA of CCC, Christian Land, if it was okay for an unofficial diplo to do so, and he made me official diplo.

So there I was, without a clue of what to do. So what did I do? I started just chatting. At first about CCC's setup and a bit about myself, and later stories about the day-to-day goings-on (nothing sensitive obviously) of CCC, stuff like rogues, blunders, things that had gone well, and stuff like that. And eventually, the embassy became the hammering-out grounds for my first trade circle. Would end up with William Blake, centrino, moneyshot, Kaiser Stefan (from TGE), Invincible (from CCC) and of course me.

Then the War of the Coalition happened (OOC: and an RL condition was aggravated) so the relations were dampened somewhat when I decided to disappear (OOC: I quit for three months) after fighting for CCC, spending a month building up aid and sending it to n00bs along with what was left of my tech, and including a TOOL member. I did so officially on 19 September. But, you know what they say, they all return, and after three months with no one knowing what I was doing, I returned, and upheld a promise to TOOL to join them.

But my love for my first alliance remained. I have to thank William Blake for allowing me to declare war on a guy (iirc, Alakran Empire) who rogued against CCC member Les Paul Supreme, who was a relatively new player at the time. Somewhere along the course of my time in TOOL, I would serve as co-ambassador to CCC, but Inquisition work would take me away from that post. Since then, Gamemaster has stepped in and served TOOL well in that regard, but I have still stayed in the CCC IRC channel. I was honoured by CCC by being the second person to be named to their Hall of Honour.

I feel I have a strong connection to CCC's current government. Slave2Jesus (also known as jatutt), as the longest-serving member of CCC (he's been around only a week or two less than the alliance itself), was in the alliance the whole time I was there. Jelly Doughnut and I have had some fun times shooting the breeze. Ogden and I were in government together when I was Minister of Defence there. I actually trained (or at least, began training) Zion7 in the ways of Robertian War. And I need not explain further how LPS and I are connected

I am ecstatic that TOOL on a larger level has seen just how epic CCC really is.

By the way, the name of the treaty was inspired by this:
