Sammyace Kintober, 5th ruler of the Eggman Empire, Brilliant genius/mad scientist stared at the vial placed in the injector gun. After what seemed like eons of non-stop work and experimentation, Kintober believed he finally had tweaked the serum enough so that it did it's job without killing the subject. There would be, of course, major side effects. DNA altering drugs usually had them. The happy smilers were a prime example. Sure they could kill twenty arm men with out breaking a sweat but their minds were scrambled jell-o. Kintober took one last look at the vial, before he sighed, and muttered "screw it." With that, he jabbed the needle into his neck and pulled the trigger. He heard the hiss of the gun as it injected the serum into his body. Kintober felt nothing.

"Well this doesn't feel so ba-." Kintober was saying when the serum hit his brain and gave him the finger. Fortunately for Kintober, he passed out before he could start the whole "screaming in agony" bit. Although he did do a bit of unconscious thrashing.

---

When Kintober woke up, he wasn't quite sure what time it was. He did know that he hurt. A lot. He cracked his eyes open then screwed them shut. The dim halogen lamps that lit the gloomy lab felt like suns. Their flickering buzz boomed like cannons in his ears. He cracked his eyes open again, and the light seemed a tad bit dimmer this time. He mentally grumbled at the though of slow, painful adjustments to the light, but it was his only option. When his eyes had finally adjusted, he attempted to push himself. He immediately flopped back down and suppressed a scream as pain raced up and down his body. Kintober decided to lie on the floor and merely stretch and flex his force-augmented muscles. When the pain died down, he made another attempt. He was successful, but pain still danced along his nervous system up to his brain.

Placing a hand on a desk to his side, Kintober took a few unsteady steps forward. He tripped, nearly fell, but collected himself before he could kiss the floor. "I get to learn how to walk again...goodie." Kintober said dryly. He made a few shaky trips around the desk, allowing muscle memory reprogram itself into his legs. After he felt comfortable walking, he decided to make a trip from the desk to a metal table nearby. The trip was shaky, and he almost fell a few times, but he finally made it. After that, he spent the next few hours reeducating his body on how to move. In the end, he moved just like any normal person would.

During this rather grueling process, he began to notice the improvements in his body. His vision had gone way beyond 20/20. It was like someone had replaced his eyes with a pair of HD binoculars. The clarity and focus was amazing. Kintober found he could "zoom in" on objects way at the other end of the room, and still make out the most tiny details on them.

His skin had been upgraded as well. During his shambling around the room, he'd accidentally grabbed a scalpel blade first. He didn't feel it nor did it cut him. It also seemed fireproof. When he was walking around, he tripped and grabbed the nearest thing to him to steady himself. It turned out it was a live Bunsen burner. Not a scratch. Kintober was beginning to like his new "2.0" body. Until he saw the side affects, which didn't scare him quite as bad as he thought they would.

Rather then striking him down with mental retardation, the serum only messed up his features. And even then, it wasn't that bad. Besides, bluish veins that bulged out from the skin, white hair, greyish skin, and red-tinted eyes were all the latest fashion rage, right? Regardless, he was back from his little hiatus and the was much to do. Hunting down that terror cell before they became a problem was one thing that came to mind. Kintober chuckled. He felt like the world was at his fingertips. Time to get to work. He headed for the exit which would lead to his office. Once he was there, he would call a meeting with his commanders and see what had happened in his abscence.
