Ok, so basically, I lost my old Ipod. (kind of a good thing actually, it was a crappy one) I need help getting a new one, but I really don't know which kind to get. I could go onto there website or something to find out, but that might confuse me. So can someone who knows just tell me the best kind out there, or different kinds of ipods and general price ranges. This way I can figure out which to get and if I can afford it. While it is, lets just pretend that cost does not matter at this point

I appreciate the help,

~ KJ II

But if you can't resist how good it looks, get the 80BG iPod classic. It's only 250 and has a shitload more capacity than the touch.

I like how portible the iPod Nano is.

The iPod, the ONLY Apple product I will support, and iTunes is evil. It makes my computer go 90% slower.

Nano, why do you need to walk around with 80 gigs of music?

get an 8 gig nano, you are talking hours of playtime, if you get sick of what's on it, have multiple playlists set up on your itunes an switch it out occasionally, there is never a need to get a big 80 gig one....

unless you plan on listening to 80 gigs of music at once....

well now your choices have been narrowed more. Your down to Iphone, Itouch, and Video Ipod (varies memory capacities), and the video nano.

I suggest you stay away from the Iphone b/c it's one fee after another, Itouch if you enjoy your intenetz and don't need the extra phone, but the drawback is memory size. I'd suggest the Video Ipod that was previously suggested b/c of the memory it's gotten so much smaller from the initial 80 gig and other variants.

And unlike me w/ w/e you go with it will be better than my blue Ipod mini that has a so black fluid from the screen covering it b/c i dropped it. and now can't select music or anything.

I just got an 80gig IPod Classic(well, ive actualy had it for over a month), and I love it, the grphics are amazingly good, and theres also a few new extras on it, like the album cover mode(wich is awesome), and ablum covers randomly play on the mainscrean, and thats really sick.

But now that the Nano supports video, 8 GB isn't as much as when it was pure music. Also since the Nano is now fat, it's like a short regular iPod so there is basically no advantage to it except hat it's $50 cheaper but it has 72 less GB. That was in response to Soxnation.

Getting 10 times as much storage space and a slightly bigger screen for $50 more isn't too bad. What it's a matter of is whether you want to pay the $50 to get more than 8 GB of storage. Personally I don't have nearly that much music so I'd probably get the $150 Nano, but it all depends on what you need.

4 GB Nano: $150
8 GB Nano: $200
80 GB Classic: $250
160 GB Classic: $350
8 GB Touch: $300
16 GB Touch: $400

The touch is nice but honestly... not $100 nicer than the Nano. Well, maybe, but I'm miserly.

I've got a better idea. Never get an iPod. Get an actually half-way decent MP3 player instead, probably something from Creative or whatever that company was called.

It really comes down to two options.

If you don't have a large amount of music
and
you spend lots of time in WiFi zones...

Buy the iPod touch.

If you do have a large amount of music/videos
or
you are not near WiFi barely ever...

Classic is for you.

I should have done this, but my brother infected my family with the diesese that is Apple. I still hold my crusade against Apple, the iPod is the only Apple product I will use, and that is because I already own it. :jihad:

it depends. do you want an ipod that holds alot of songs? if so, go with the big one. i have a nano, and let me tell you it is one of the hardest decisions when it comes to deciding which song(s) to take off. ipod nanos hold approximately 1000 songs, while a larger one can hold up to 20,000 or 40,000 songs. also, if you want to buy it cheaper, check out Target(i am sure they sell them), Wal-Mart (i think sells them), or some other retailer. buying from apple is more expensive.

I've got a first generation silver iPod Mini, 4 GB. It's still kickin' and it suits my needs.
