Transvaal’s exiled opposition spoke out today against the Malan regime, with Jakob Martin Hertzog and Paul Cruywagen blaming the marshal for over 7,000 deaths due to government oppression and economic neglect since he took power at the end of April.

“That man have more blood on his hands than Mrs. Macbeth” said Hertzog in his characteristic, heavily accented and halting English.

Field Marshal Petrus Malan, Commander-in-Chief of the Republican Military Goverment of Transvaal, denounced the opposition critics, saying that since the Republic of Transvaal was proclaimed last month, Transvaal’s population has actually increased by around 1,000 citizens due to immigration from Europe.

Malan accused the opposition of being “spineless tools of international communistm, liberals, atheists, zionists, and freemasons”.

Cruywagen and Hertzog urged the international community to maintain the moral spotlight on Pretoria and pressure on the Malan dictatorship.

Comandante Junio Borghese spoke out in defense of Field Marshal Malan describing him as "A statesman who's goal is to enhance the values and principles of Transvaal's culture and society" he told newspaper Il Popolo D'Italia.

"What is the big deal? Field General Petrus Malan did nothing but the best to ensure stability in his country. The opposition spoke of a 'moral spotlight' on pretoria, in short, they want foreign countries to interfere in Transvaal's internal affairs and use the country's political figures and resources as they may fit for their own personal gain." he added.

Please be more selective in your criticisms, Field Marshal. Several of the groups you have named as supposedly being behind your opposition are diametrically opposed to each other, and would be incapable of cooperation.
