Well I obviously know which answer will win, but I'm interested to see how many here actually support him.

Voted he's done ok.

He did poorly with the economy and immigration, he did well with the Iraq war and Afghanistan mission.

Voted he could have done a little better.

War on Terror & the Bush Doctrine, good.
Battlefront in Iraq as part of the war on terror, mismanaged.
Tax cuts good.
Overall economy good.

Major failures is actively pursuing an expansionist domestic government model, which I think more than anything has contributed to his low approval ratings -- because 40%+ haven't liked him since he won the election, and most of them wouldn't like him still regardless of Iraq, its the 20% in the middle that moved largely because of Iraq, but its the 40%+ that supported him giving up on him/weakening in their support that really kills his ratings.

"Will the highways on the Internets become more few?"

I think we agree, the past is over.

An example of the genius at work. I voted Bush is :awesome:. Not even the greatest comedian could come up with some of his stuff.

I personally don't think he's as horrible as a lot of people do, but he's certainly not that wonderful of a president.

2 or 3 out of 10. Domestic policy has been poor, but not really awful. I disagree with most of his policies their but except for Katrina haven't been blatantly incompetent. With foreign policy on the other hand, the degree of blundering has been breathtaking, especially with regards to maintaining friendly relations and the handling of post-invasion Iraq.

Just for his abuse of long cherished Anglo-American legal doctrines such as Habeas Corpus, I believe he ranks among the worst Presidents we have ever had. (Not to mention his disastrous foreign policy, and non-effective domestic policy). At least Nixon accomplished some good things like opening China. And though Carter was laughable, there was not strong signs that the peanut industry was the driving force behind his government.

i'm currently making fun of that comment. Bush did nothing good... except for recently admitting global warning wasn't made up by gay terrorists who want abortions.

Bush was an idiot

As for the Nixon comment, try China, Cancer Research, Vietnam, the EPA, the DEA, the Office of Minority Business Enterprise, the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, NASA, Chile

Nixon was actually one of the greatest Presidents of all time, if watergate hadn't happened he'd be a hero. America needs someone with his sort of radical thinking.

Nixon's highs were higher than Bush's and is lows much lower. He was a sleezeball, and not just about Watergate. Vietnam too.

However, he did as you provided examples of, have some admirable achievements. He was an intelligent, if very flawed, man.

I really hate these bush threads. Am I the only one that thinks

Bush = Sony
The people = Microsoft

I mean you have the people slagging of Bush all the fricking time when he seems to be doing his best. Really now give him a break.

I voted Bush is :awesome: because the evil Sony paid me to do it.
