The Kaiser stood in the office of the President of the Nordic Confederacy. Around him, the combined flags of all the Nordic countries hung. It was a beautiful sight. He looked around and saluted the main Nordic flag. He then sat down and removed his cap.

"First, I'd like to announce the entry of a new member to the Nordic Confederacy. They fought long and hard with us and proved their intent on establishing a Europe free of foreign influence and tyranny. We'd like to announce the joining of the Norden Kingdom to the NC."

Visari took a moment to pause a map of the Norden Kingdom was lowered, to join the selective group of other Nordic countries. He then took a deep breath.

Comrades,

The Nordic Confederacy has been through strugges. From day one, the world laughed at our formation. Another failure", they said. Another poor attempt to control Europe, some more said. However, we stood steadfast. We fought against the criticism, and we remained true to our goals. When the bandit SlavoRussian government threatened to poison Europe with their lies, it was us that stood up for righteousness. The world rallied behind them and there we stood. Outnumbered 2 to 1. But we prevailed! We took thousands of prisoners and beat back nations which were deemed "invincible". Now, we have peace. We have Justice. We have Security. My comrades, That is the goal I hoped to achieve as Kaiser of Germany and as President of the Nordic Confederacy. We have achieved that goal. And with that, I can now rest in peace. Therefore, effective immediately, I announce my resignation as President of the Nordic Confederation. Taking my place is a man the world knows all too well. He is a friend and a comrade. I'd like to announce Kaiser Martens as the next President of the Nordic Confederacy. He will do Europe well.

Nordlandic Confederacy Treaty

Mutual Defence:

In defensive wars, which are defined as wars of aggression against The Nordlandic Confederacy (Henceforth referred to as "NC"), each party is to defend each other on the battlefield to the utmost of their abilities, considering themselves to be in a state of war with the aggressors automatically.

Mutual Aggression:

When it comes to offensive wars, although Nations are encouraged to collaborate, the right to opt out from such a conflict is reserved to each sovereign signatory party. Deciding not to take a part of such a war includes being able to opt out from defending from Declarations of War that may come as a direct reaction of the Offensive War. If a NC nation honors a military pact outside of NC, this is also considered to fall under this case.

General Council of the Lands:

The General Council of the Lands is the main body of the Treaty. There is to be a delegation available at Berlin at all times of officers to represent their respective Lands, and at least once a year the Leader or Leaders of each Land must have a meeting to coordinate the direction of the NCT, discuss issues, and if they wish, amend the treaty. The Leader of the Council is chosen once a month, and is the current leader of a nation in the treaty organization.

Greater Council of the General Staff:

The Military Council, concerning cooperation during wartime and readiness during peacetime, its task is to better make each individual nation be able to concentrate their efforts with a higher efficiency.

Economic Council of the Northern Lands:

The Economic Council deals with maintaining a stable economy, trade agreements and is essentially a tool for the better development of each of the involved Nations. During wartime, they work together with the Economic Council to help war production efforts and supplying efforts.

Votes and Rights of the Lands:

Each Nation has the right to one vote in each decision or issue that may arise. As we are Five, there is no such a thing as a tie. Nations may choose to abstain from deciding on a particular issue. Each Nation has the right to leave the pact with two weeks of warning during which the treaty remains active. During wartime, it is impossible to leave the treaty until the end of the conflict.

Amends and Modifications:

Amending the pact requires the approval of all involved parties.

Finally, a hero returns and a nation is given it's honest reward for a great fight. However, we are sad to see Kaiser Visari step down. He was a great man, and without his insight and technology, this war would never have turned out the way it did.

Martens stepped up and awarded then Visari with the highest ranking Nordlandic and German condecoration in history. Martens saluted Visari briefly but martially, who would surely do the same. Then President of the Nordlanders turned to address the folk with some of his own words,

"Many of you will remember. This condecoration had only been awarded once ever before. That was to Ritter von Mannelig after his unification of our territories and the subsequent creation of Nordland as we know it. But here, Herr Visari, did what the last Nordland had failed to do, and that was to remove of course our unfriendly neighbors from a dangerous position. Like Rurik and his Varangians, we the rightful rulers have finally returned to Russland, and will remain there to ensure no anarchy ever rises again. As our goals of safety are fulfilled, a new era is to come to us, an era of peace and hopefully a lack of "pre-emptive defense" wars, for we have finally secured our Heimatländer. Visari shall have a honored spot in Vallhaall along with many of our million of heroes. Remember, that while I have given him a medal, our most important medal is being able to look at ourselves in the mirror and knowing we're Nordlanders, with our own lifestyle, traditions, language, weapons, and life. The enemies of Martinism must have become complacent in Martin’s absence, Generalissimo knows too well how effective laying low in “death” can be.
Ultimately the coalition’s failure was absolute, their victory a temporary hiccup in Martin’s scheme as Europe is once again under Germany’s jackboot. Now Nordic influence reverberates far beyond Western Europe and without counter their expansion will continue unabated.
Disposing of pretences the Nordic Confederacy puts Martins the position he held the whole time, proving beyond a doubt these “leaders” are nothing but puppets subject to the whips of Martins’ strings.
