Lusakya, Zambia Territory

Several regally dressed guards stood beside a podium as a silver haired man approached.

Ranather Rukia.

He held his hand up for silence as the crowd erupted into cheers.

"Citizens of the Commonwealth and foreign guests watching from afar.

Today, after a weeklong referendum, the Commonwealth Congress has voted as per the results. The people have asked for....no, demanded, an end to this unified division, as one might call it. Proposal One, the dissolution and unification of the Commonwealth states passed by a 95-3-2 vote. By a 99-1-0 vote..."
the crowd once again erupted into cheers.

"I have been named regent of the state and awarded emergency powers to oversee all duties of the stat during this transition. I have accepted and have decreed that elections for Governors and the Congress shall be held within one and two months respectively." he raises his hand for silence yet again.

"The state itself, now not being a commonwealth, shall be organized back into a monarchy, the Empire of the South, Südenreich. Our democratic positions shall be preserved while adding a necessary element of Authoritarian Rule. A wise man's vision of a Benevolent Royalty shall be made to fruit. So I swear before you and our Lord in the heavens. Heil."

Lusakya, Imperial District

Regent Ranather Rukia, now in a fully medaled Reichskaiser Uniform, not unlike that of Kaiser Martens, stood looking over the Parliament building as it was being gutted and refitted into a proper Reichstag. The nordification of South-Central Africa had begun in earnest. Oh sure, the Catholics were none too pleased, but Rukia had ordered his engineers and guards to leave Christian, Muslim, Byzantine, and Native things alone.

His reacsencion to power had so far been smooth and he wanted to make sure it stayed that way. He looked over at pictures of the Basilica of St. Jude which was being converted into a plain Cathedral so he wouldn't have to destroy it to build a proper Nordic centre of power. True to Martenscist form, he was moving the capital from the coastal Namibe to the more defensible and central location of Lusakya.

What nobody knew, however, was that he was also Ubersteinizing certain parts of the city. Pneumatics, Hydraulics, 6-layer deep Bunkers, the works. Another little secret was the construction of missile launch sites in the (secretly artificially constructed) foothills outside the city.

Nordheim and Martens watch with attention from afar, wondering if such a thing as stability may be possible.

The Federal Republic of Transvaal supports this latest government change in South Central Africa although the nordification is some cause of alarm for us - not that we do not approve, but rather at the potential of creating an African refugee situation pouring into our provinces of Namibia and Rhodesia. We have already seen our population spike by almost 10% (4,346) around two days ago from refugees fleeing the Suidryk - as the Südenreich is called by the Afrikaners in Transvaal.

(OOC: in-game population increase)

"Oh, the afrikaners have no cause for alarm. The natives are integral parts of the Empire and I have appointed many to high posts. Like Ikel Unokobongo, who is our Minister of Finances. The 'nordification' pertains only in a military and economic sense. I am an enthusiastic embracer of the melting pot that are our cultures and various heritages and would never enact any policy that would hurt that."

Imperial Navy Unveils New Battleship - IFS Nordic Victory

The flagship of the New Imperial Navy, the Nordic Victory is a Temujihn-class Battleship, roughly designed off of the Japanese Yamato. The Empire is reported to be seeking to negotiate with Neo Japan in regards to the base design. The most notable changes to the design are a shift to more AA weaponry and the switch from Steam to Gas Turbines, as well as minor changes to the hull.

Well that now explains why our border guards reported not seeing any traffic at the crossings - we were unaware there were travel restrictions in place between the Federal Republic and the Südenreich.

For the meanwhile, Transvaal's interior ministry shall be maintaining border crossing checkpoints on our common frontier - however the Federal Government would be open to discuss a free trade agreement since our economies are still very much linked due to geography and common history.

"Such restrictions were placed in recent months, during the Commonwealth era, due to a somewhat lack of control in the area, rogue warlords and what not. While there is no evidence that any such violence spilled over into the Federal Republic - thank God for that - we are confident that Ordinator raids on strategic points in the latter days of last month have crippled the warlords, thus easing the threat, and the restrictions.

Though the Federal Republic and I have not always seen eye-to-eye, such a free trade agreement might go a long way to further thawing our cold relationship. The days of our bitter feud ought to be long behind us."

While the Empire itself uses the Super Yamato as a base design, we still hold design ownership over the original Yamato design. The Imperial Naval Service, who governs our Naval shipyards, will be meeting with Sudenreich to discuss copyright issues, other legal issues, compensation for use of our design, and other topics which will allow the Sudenreich to continue production of this design and allow both nations to come to a business arrangement regarding our design.

OOC: yay more peaceful deals :3

Any coldness remaining would be from the Franzharians side - as the Federal Republic, especially since Hertzog returned to power, has long put aside any negativeness between our two states. Our longtime technology deals went a long way towards repairing and warming up pro-Franzharian feeling in the current Federal Government.
