Encouraging trolling etc.

I request an Admin or SwordofEstel ruling.

This is sort of exasperating. I did not break any rule.

1
I think half of this is in contextual details:
1. Someone asks why GGA is not posting in that PR nightmare thread.
2. yetanothername (a GGA member until that thread happened) says "because they don't want to feed the trolls."
3. I say "oh! Oh! We'll do it."

Who are the "trolls"? The "trolls" are the people that are guffawing, hee-hawing, and ripping GGA about all the stuff coming to light in the thread.

Vox Populi is the group posting most of the screen shots, IRC logs, making the sigs (like the one I'm wearing now) that is creating the PR nightmare. So, what I'm saying is that GGA did not need to post to "feed the trolls" because Vox Populi was posting enough content to keep the thread well alive into perpetuity.

So, for anyone that was keeping up with things, my comment could not be construed to be "encouraging trolling etc" (whatever "etc" is, by the way). It was a statement that Vox Populi would continue to post damning material in the thread.

2
Additionally, trolling for purposes of rule enforcement on these forums is "submitting posts with the aim of targeting/harassing/angering a group (as opposed to flaming which applies to individual)." yetanothername, to whom I was replying, was using "trolls" in the coloquial sense that pundits use it: "anything that makes an alliance look bad in public." The two are not equal. I was not encouraging rules violations, I was encouraging on-topic dialogue that had been going on for 80 pages already. Frankly, my post was on the last page of the thread, not early in it where logic dictates that "encouragement" goes.

3
Lastly, due to the claims of a VE member that he would post nude pictures of himself in the thread (in order to get the thread locked for GGA), the thread was under direct review by Megabyte--who has been a mod for 4 months longer than HK47. He locked the thread then began reading the final 3 pages and deleting posts (as evidenced by its going from 81 pages to 80)--Megabyte must have read my post, and he did not warn me for it (and the dude is strict). By the time HK47 warned me the thread had been locked for 24 hours, and plenty of other mods had been all over it.

Before saying anything else, I want to point out a few things things:

I request an Admin or SwordofEstel ruling.

Adding this to your topic is pointless as it won't change anything. Any member of the Senior Staff may ruling on any appeal.

...Megabyte--who has been a mod for 4 months longer than HK47.

It matters not how much longer one of our staff members has been here than any other.

3: 'Sword of Estel' is three words. ;)

That being said, we have decided that the post isn't worth a warning.
