Last September I sent an order in to the Civilian Marksmanship Program for the M1 Carbine, they received the order on the 6th, and it just shipped out yesterday. Over a month of waiting, but well worth it. :) How awesome is this? An Underwood M1 Carbine, barrel dated 1943, 2,8XX,XXX serial number. Bought it for "only" $585, cheap considering I'v never seen one ever for less than $700. I'v never seen one at a gun show for less than $700. I got a picture of the cartouche on the stock, the Carbines offered by teh CMP were returned by Italy. This makes 20 toys. :)

I need to order a sling/oiler, and maybe a bayonet. Bayonets for the Carbine are only about $30, so its not too expensive. I still need to flip through my "Complete Guide to the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine to get some of the specifics concerning the type of parts and such.

When its a tad warmer out I'll take a picture with the Garand and 1911. :awesome:

Oh, and FedEx rules and regs are totally retarded. I passed the NICS check and bought the rifle right? You have to be 21 to sign for the rifle.

I don't care for guns myself (especially ones that aren't black/chrome/shiny), but congrats anyways. So many guns... kinda makes you think you have something to compensate for, eh? :awesome:

Not quite.

I like black guns, commonly referred to as "evil black rifles", like AR-15's, FN FAL's, and such. But those are so expensive. :( I think I only have four evil black guns out of the twenty. A vast majority of my toys are either military surplus or "military style", traditional "sporting" guns don;t interest me the least.
They just don;t have history to them, while a majority of mine were used in a world war. :awesome:

Oh, and the smell of cosmoline, its heavenly. Another reason to love old greasy guns.

The .30-06 has some history behind it.
I just like to shoot things. Any idea where I could get an FN P90?

Down boy! Look up the gun. Since it was made for the US Army it would have standardized specs. So, just look them up.

I'll check my Garand/Carbine book and see what it says about the wood.

The 30-06, does the modern rifles that are chambered for 30-06' don't. :P

FN P90? Just call a gun store in your area, it should run you about $1,000, ammo is purdy dern expensive though.

True. But I don't think that -Wolverine- Would let you have a hack at his gun now would he?

Who said I had a modern rifle?
