First of all, don't worry, the United Nations, and the United States made the same mistake. Technically, a nation is any group of people with a common cultural identity, they don't necessarily need to be associated with a particular political entity. A state, on the other hand, is a political entity that follows a few criteria: International Recognition, Sovereignty, A government, a stable population, and defined boundaries. Considering the "states" in the United States do not have sovereignty, we should really be called the "United Provinces". Keeping these arguments in mind, I believe a more applicable name for the game would be "CyberStates", but maybe I'm just nit-picky.

We are all people with too much time on out hands, we are a nation.

There is no set definition of nation.

For example, Japanese and Koreans consider nation = ethnic group = state = government.

It sounds like you've learned something in class today for we were discussing this same thing in politics class.

Either that or it is some crazy coincidence that someone should bring this up today of all days.

It was discussed at Uni today, too. Creepy.

Given the unitary nature of our states it is safe to assume that they are all nation-states. Thus the name is correct.

That makes sense vladimir, normally it is near impossible to create a true nation-state, but yes given the nature of the states we create, they have to be nation-states.
