though CNRP has taken a true life of its own, Sports RP, a subculture of CNRP, has now been lost to the epically deep CNRP forums. I was wondering if there is anyway for CN Sports to get a sub forum in the Open National RP forum. The reasoning behind this is that our posts get quickly lost into the massive number of posts in the Fantasy RP forum and thus it becomes extremely difficult to continue our RP.

Is there any way we can get a subforum for Sports RP?

Approved for discussion.

To get this idea implemented i'd say you need to show there is a decent demand for such a forum.

Somewhere else on these forums there is a thread suggesting this exact same idea. I do not remember where, but know it was suggested elsewhere in the past few days.

Yeah, and it was authored by njndirish as well.

The problem with not having one is that, while most standard RP threads usually only go two or three pages, Sports RP threads could go considerably longer - the Liga Mundo thread for last season for example went ten for me and I have the post display settings set to double the board default. However, in the space of a day, said topics could get buried a few pages. I know a couple of people have expressed concerns about gravedigging as a result.

Also, before the changeover, Sports RP, particularly in soccer, was gaining considerable momentum, however that may have been damaged (and quite severely at that) by the changeover. Because who wants to dig three or four pages to find a topic they posted in the day before?

I completley agree that this topic needs its own forum. Sports RP have become as much a part of CNRP has wars. Dig out some of the strings from past World Cup events, and that participitation wil be shown to be rather widespread, and not just postings between the same three people (like some threads).

It will also allow for more RP among those who would rather see see national pride come from good RP, and not just blowing another nation up.

I really don't see what was wrong with the previous sport forum and why it had to be changed - over 100 nations took part in the recent Alliance Cup event and sport is serving to bring nations together that otherwise wouldn't have contact.

I have no interest in pretending to attack another nation, but taking part in some form of competition does appeal to me and makes my nation feel like it has more of an identity somehow. There may be great potential new sport competitions out there for me to enter, but I am unable to enter them because they may well be buried under several pages of other stuff. So this will discourage new competitions and thus fewer people will take part in any sort of roleplay.

Mods, please think again.

We Want our Sports Forum!

Look, we all have our various tastes in CN. Some like politics, some like to war. However, there are a lot of us who enjoy the sports community in CN, and as it currently stands, we have no place to go. Are we Role play, or fantasy? While your could stretch the boundaries and say yes, the simple fact is that there is no clear place to go for either the experienced players or those new to CN to look for sports. Mods, this is what we need, and if there is a question of "Are there people", just look at the number of countries that participated in the Alliance Cup. Most alliances would drool to have those numbers!

Where was my post?

Anyway, I support a sports forum - I don't want to be digging through 3 pages of useless material before I get what I want. Before, I know it's at the top of the page, where I left it the last time I posted. Here, we are presented with a problem of me being afraid to gravedig, the rules are not clear, I believe they say something to the effect of "gravedigging depends on the time since the last post and the position on the forum pages"

Xpert11 Leagues, like Liga Mundo, Legion Championship, Ark Premier League and the like have matchdays 2 times a week. This means on one occasion, a topic could be left for 4 days as there is no matchday action, and then when it is time to post the updates, it's already on page 12 and being responsible gamers, would rather let a topic die than get infringed for doing something. But therein lies the problem, the topic should not die, it is not our fault that the offsite is coded for 2 games a week - if we all had special status on there, we could get 3 games a week, but that would still have to leave a gap of at least 2 days.

Whatever formation we squish the games in, we're still all going to be fearing for gravedigging infringements. A new forum would solve all this.

To whoever dreamed up this change, repent! Repent!
