Perhaps...because I want folks to at least learn the mechanics of the game? And I am by no means an expert.

It drives some folks nuts. I get hit, and I tell you where you made a glaring mistake (after I take advantage of it). You attack an alliance member...well, I might mentiion that same mistake to you. Always after I illuminate upon it with the alliance mate/friend. And we both take advantage of it. Ain't that fun?

So I was threatened by one. Yeah, bs...I don't really care what alliance you are with.

i'll admit i've attacked someone while still in defcon 5 myself... it really hurts the odds of a succesful attack...

What if they changed their defcon to collect taxes and are now sufficiently bigger than their opponent(s) to do so without suffering any repercussions?

Well, I found it amusing. And, yeah, have hit in Defcon 5 a time or two when I wasn't paying attention. It's usually good for an 'aaahh crud' moment and a laugh at myself.

Defcon swap and collect...possible but, not with that particular case since they were in defcon 4. Probably got spied by someone and just didn't notice and such. Or, who knows.

DefCon 5 can be an acceptable risk though if you're sitting on enough cms. What's the point in raiding if your opponent is going to blow up the tech you stole and some infra with it. Have i mentioned that I hate cms? Yes I'm in defcon 5 right now. And if you raid me I'll nuke ya

But you're never big enough to be safe from losing a ground attack in defcon 5 unless you have 5 guerrilla camps and your opponent is half your size and has no GCs. But then you might as well not be in DefCon 5 because you're making peanuts from your collection anyway.

Having said that, it's still the roll of a slightly loaded dice at the end of the day.

Seems you have an $@! hat on your hands, you should level him just for that!
I have attacked many nations when raiding on Defcon 5, and won every time.
The eff rating has alot to do with your war outcome, and funny enough, i've lost a few in
defcon 1 and my odds were in the 70% range, heh go figure......
