Ka works in great mysteries, do ya kennit? Ka, the wheel of fate, always turning. Always toiling endlessly to the world's bitter end. They say ka is like the wind, they do.

It was in the hand of Ka that fateful day, that Arthur of the Eld first rose up from the ashes of the Great Old Ones and conquered the Land of Eld in the name of the white and all that is right. There are many a grand story and tale to be told about the rise of the Eld, from the time of the Good Man, Farson (we all thought the world was moving on, so we did,) to the time of reckoning following the discovery of the machines of the Great Old Ones. Most are only half true, and many only exaggerate half as much as they should.

But this is not the time or the place for the stories of old. Now is the time for a new age. So began the age from that which our young leader rises, Roland of the Eld. Ka would have it that he would be named, as his father before him, and his father before him, king of our fair lands.

And it was also Ka that this would be the age of exploration. An age of growth and prosper not seen in a thousand years. For the first time, those in the Eld began to wonder what lay past the fertile valleys and mountain oases. Ka would have it, they would learn.

So forth from the Eld would march the soldiers and diplomats. Forth into the unknown.

...and only Ka will tell their fate.
