Listen, I'm religious and obviously a thiest. What I'm seeing as a continuous trend is that numerous athiests bash thiests. They generalize, they insult our reasoning capabilities and they group us all as ignorant buffoons. While most of us do nothing to them, given that some people push their thiesm on them, but the majority of religious people don't. Look at http://forums.cybern...showtopic=39279 , it exhibits the constant string of attacks that are carried upon thiests by athiests. Yeah, I agree that we should all be allowed to practice our beliefs, but I don't need YOU to criticize my reasoning or my intelligence based on whether I believe in a God or not.

Edit - I do not mean all athiests.

Its not about managing, its the growing trend that has developed into thiests thinking religious people destroying the United States.

For example, you're religious, so you must have voted for Bush and are a gun-loving Republican against gays and abortion. Furthermore, you're also a creationist who doesn't believe in evolution.

Yeah, I've experienced it on CN and on the internet in general.

I've never seen anybody online "pushing their theism" on another person on the internet, unless it was a website or topic in which that is expected. It's always the other way around. It's like the internet has become the breeding ground of these sorts of many hyper-agressive atheists. Don't know why though. (Also that isn't an insult just an observation)

if someone questioning your beliefs is enough to hurt them in any way, you're a bloody terrible theist.

The people in that thread weren't insulting theists (in fact many of them are theists). They were insulting creationists. Who frankly deserve to be insulted.

Grow thicker skin or leave the boiler room.

That is the most absurd qualifier imaginable. The same can be said for atheists. They're not "theist-bashing" in the topic about federally owned land, for example.

Well not neccessarily topics, but I mean websites. CN doesn't exactly have a "religion" sub-forum, which is what I meant by topic. Doitzel, practically everyone has seen what we're talking about. Sometimes the theist bashing can get very out of hand, to the point of arguments purely centered around ad hominem attacks and cheap insults (what a religious person would consider blaphemy) against the other persons beliefs. Are you saying you've never experienced it?

I'm saying I've suffered people like Slayer of Cliffracers and Norman Hale Gareth and their grandiose gay-bashing.

If you're going to push a position in a debate forum that is rooted in religious faith then you're going to get people attacking that faith. I never discuss mine so I've never had it questioned.
