This chart displays the strength evolution of the most important alliances in CN from 01.01.2007 till today. I have included all currently sanctioned alliances + ex sanctioned alliances + unsanctioned alliances with the strength ratio of sanctioned ones (basically TOP and Grämlins).

- Important timeframes have been marked over the chart
- I think I forgot GOLD and ONOS, will add them if I find the time, if anyone remembers more ex-sanctioned alliances which played a global role, please let me know
- the image is large, 2200x1100 or such, you will need to zoom in and scroll to see smaller timeframes
- thanks to Unspeakable Evil for his assistance with the data
- whoever is running these, shall feel free to add this picture to the CN History Thread or Wiki

Interesting development :)

Have fun discussing which the most "important" or "changing" times were :P

Fancy, and interesting that no one yet has reached GPAs pre-tech-devaluation strength levels.

Also, NpO has some crazy good growth going.

GOONS had by far the greatest plummet as far as strength and influence goes, then FAN and then probably GATO.

I have a question, what caused GOONS, FAN, and GATO lose so much powers?

I am a bit interested in CN politics now, but I am mostly a bystander.

Maybe I'm biased, but where is Nordreich's strength on that chart?

This is very nice - thanks for putting the effort into this.

And yes, Polar's recovery was a given, their speedy recovery will be the surprising thing :)

GATO used to be even stronger (in relative terms) then it looks like on this chart, but it lost three wars with Pacifica (the two seem to be opposed since the elder days of the first great war), the last one more or less putting it in the crippled state it exists in today. (Though they have proved to be the &#$@roaches of CN, bouncing back when no one expects them to, so maybe they will eventually make a comeback.)

FAN got smashed by the rest of the initiative in the VietFAN war for both agreeing to unknown truces with WUT enemies and generally being impossible to control, and though they took their chunk of flesh out of the NPO on the way down they never really have had the breathing room to recover at all. They are currently stuck in VietFAN number two, so I don't see that situation changing anytime soon, but they do seem to have a functioning government and membership base, so the capability for rebirth is probably still there if they are ever granted it.

GOONS probably came the closest to establishing a New World Order centered on them, but they just pissed off too many alliances and when the Unjust War broke out they were swapped by a huge coalition and torn to shreds. They tried to pull off their own version of VietFAN called AfGOONistan, but, well, the results were less then spectacular and eventually they disbanded.

What kind of revisionist history is this? GOONS didn't want to establish a 'New World Order.' I'm fairly sure they were content with the way things were. And 'their own version of VietFAN' is pure nonsense. They didn't do any of the crazy !@#$ FAN has done. They did what any alliance being piledrived does.
