Somewhere near Old Vilnius

It was a cold and rainy winter day in western Lithuania. The roads were loud as Polish armor and trucks pulled back from the newly won eastern line.

At the Polish Forward Readiness Airbase 5, an all white Concord docked with the civilian terminal after a speedy landing.

The terminal doors swung open and almost immediately a task force of GROM security agents stormed out, clearing all corners of the building. Following them were two out of place figures. One was a man in his early thirties in a custom tailored suit, the other, a woman in her twenties wearing an all black German uniform with no insignia, cut especially for a female.

They were quickly swept to a motorcade awaiting them outside. A Polish engineer was awaiting inside of the car, he had a laptop displaying GPS feedout of where they were, and where their destination was located. He said that once they arrived the elevator ride down was about 15 minutes...luckily they had each other for conversation to pass the time.

TTheir destination was made clear, Mjöllnir Hollow, the hidden city of the Gods.

"...This is...a long way down...a long time here. But we -are- moving quickly. Tell me, just exactly how DEEP did you decide to dig..? And what hinted to this place's location..? My Father had been looking for this forever...I always thought it was a pipe dream."

"It is an interesting story", The Engineer said.

"During the initial attack into Lithuania, one of our tank crews discovered an old Bracteate, which is strange in such a developed area. Soon, soldiers began finding Mjöllnir pendants and old viking armor pieces. We soon unearthed rune stones, 10 or 20 meters high, we began to dig until we unearthed an ancient bulkhead. From there, we discovered an entrance to a significant buried city and temple complex. All and all, we will be around a kilometer underground."

She opened her eyes a little more widely. It wasn't normal to see her impressed.

"All that...in a Kilometer...? Hm... I assume that even after the dissaparition of the City Itself it continued to be a Sacred Site, or a Settlement Site for a while. Tell me, did the writing on the Runestones shed some light on this?"

"Indeed, our first set off was how massive they were and deep into the ground they were located. The writing was analyzed by both Nordic Priests and Researchers, to which they came to the same conclusion. This was where the gods will congregate before Ragnarök. It is also the place where man first began his studies on the ways of the gods, this is apparent by the massive collection of early writings and artifacts we have uncovered and continue to discover. To put it in short, the annals of history have not touched this place in thousands of years, we are the first in quite a long time."

He handed her a picture.

A rune depicting the Dragon and the Snake, a clear indication of Ragnarök lore.

"I wonder if anything about Martens is mentioned here. Heh." She looked at the picture. "This is truly beautiful.."

"If the Gods were ment to get here in Ragnarök...and you found remains of the Gods as seen on the wedding...then Ragnarök must have already happened at least once..." She narrows her eyes.

"Indeed, many scholars believe that the untimely...disappearance...of your father was the end of the first age of the Gods. Which would explain the sudden appearance of these ancient runes in this location." the Emperor said.

"Let me show you my favorite location, it's in Stratum B, just down this corridor."

They walked for some time when they came upon the main geological site.

"This is the room where we found many artifacts, including the gifts you saw at the wedding. It also was a library of many Eddas that were either only fabled to exist, or completely lost in history. Among the artifacts found, one especially caught my eye."

He brought out a small blue box from his pocket and presented it to Magnhild

"It is a Valkyrie...your very image, smelt from pure silver thousands of years ago. I feel that you should have it."

"Yes, some Pagan Groups think alike. Even before having seen this. This will start a religious fire through our lands...yet the main opposition to this is the fact that we haven't found any Runic texts speaking anything about Martens himself or so. Some people compare him to Odin, Tyr, Thor, sometimes a mix." She shrugged lightly and advanced forwards, the boots making their usual sound against the very solid floor.

"Oh..what did those Eddas say? Did you find only artifacts or...any remains? You probably found a whole array of Aesir and Vanir over here..."

Then she blinked twice when seeing the little Valkyrie.

"..."

She took it in her hands, inspecting it. It was indeed old.

"I somehow feel like I am at home, Herr Zamoyski..."

She smiled and placed it in a front pocket on the uniform. "I will keep this.."

"The Eddas did speak of one thing that could be connected to Martens. It spoke of a man being born from the flames of Ragnarök. His body, mind and spirit being combined by Freyja in her last moments. This man was to bring the Nordic lore back to the people of the world and reunify Europe. He was to usher in the new age of the Gods. An age which we live in today, an age which shall bring in the Great Age of the Gods."

"Hm. That does sound rather like him. Combined...by her, but with who..? Did they mention a timeframe...? No, that's probably all they mentioned..." She wondered, stepping forwards to examine closer some of the other things.

"Impressive findings..."

She never even thought of being able to find such a place.

"The runes look old, however they seem to be a prophecy, they only speak of a man named "M". A man who could not die, his death comes with the next Ragnarök. It is entirely possible that the prophecy is fulfilled by The Kaiser. Shall we walk to Cavern A? There is a nice overlook of the city, we can have a glass of wine perhaps and overlook the ruins?"

"Hm..then I do hope he is dead or otherwise Ragnarök is yet to come." She chuckled darkly. Typical Martenslike acid humor.

"Wine, of course...as long as it is not cheap, min Vän" She smiled slightly, and picked up and interesting looking sword, that seemed to be still decently sharp in spite of having been here thousands of years. She brandishes it very slowly through the air as they go.

"We should have this one studied. The technique used in its making seems to be outstanding."

"Hah, of course not, this wine is from my personal reserve, grown in the Rheinlands about fifteen years ago. That blade...it looks much like Gram...we shall certainly send it to a researcher soon!"

He walked over to the millenniums old balcony and handed her a glass of wine.

"You look gorgeous today...as usual" he said.

The crystals on the walls sparkled in the light.

"I could never imagine standing here in a million years in the city of the gods, with a goddess...dumbfounding."

She let the blade graze carefully against the back of her hand, to test its sharpness. It seemed almost like a shaving blade. A tiny little line was cut, but thanks to precission, no redness of blood was seen.

"Well it IS as sharp as the Edda claimed it to be...maybe I will keep it..." She grinned lightly, and placed it nearby, continuing to walk until they reached the balcony.

She sips from the wine after taking some seconds to take in its aroma. Lingering on the taste while keeping it in her mouth she leans forward over the balcony to overview the city, glacierlike eyes moving through the area and the face remaining, as usual, cold while she heard those compliments.

When he was done speaking and she was done drinking, after some silence, she turned her head slightly in his direction. For a moment, a bit of light seemed to reflect against her eyes, as if they were made of crystal indeed.

"I am pleased to see...that you recognize my position."

Then she looked back to the city, sipping again.

"Of course, when I fought for Martens in the Reichsflotte, I was also being trained in the Nordic Arts and Religion. It would be absurd not to recognize your divinity...anyone who knew your father would agree."

She chuckled slightly, amused.

"You did look good there when you knelt before me, too..."

She finishes the glass.

"We shall send a few experts to help analyze this, yes?"

"You are flattering me...far too kind."

He looked at the blade,

"Indeed, you make take it with you for personal study, or one of my scientists may take a look. Your choice."

She laughed lightly, adding to his first comment. "Oh I certainly was."

She sighs, calming.

"They are on their way then..."

A few weeks later other things would be discovered. Some footprints were in the floor, relatively recent, indicating that someone had found this before THEY did, and virtually all artifacts but the Mjöllnir and the Gungnir were located. Additionally an inscription in Proto Germanic would point towards the location of the Rheingold...which would be later dug up.
