It was a bright day in Yerusalaim, with a large crowd (mainly reporters) at the Knesset. Then, followed by some commandos, Lavo Shalam walked up to the podium. Unlike more recent announcements, this was in the works since before the war began. But was delayed due to the war as well as Yom Kippur. Though, the war changed the contents of the announcement a bit. Unknown to the world and the general public, before the war, there was a classified MOSSAD operation (OOC: So you don't know this info ICly.) to find out the truth about the Welsh and Kanteero assassinations. What the operation found was rather disturbing... In the Welsh Empire, operatives found two things. Firstly, the bullet used was a 5.56mm WS (World Standard) round, most likely produced somewhere in Europe. 2) Only 3-5 shots (OOC: Guessing here.) were fired by the assassin in the moving car, judging by the muzzle-fire heard by bystanders and the bullet cases found on the ground. No terrorist has the training to make that kind of a shot so easily, never mind most marksmen and soldiers. This means that it could not have possibly been terrorists like Kanteero claimed, but highly-trained military of sorts. In Kanteero itself, troops found one thing. The bullet used was also a 5.56mm WS and there was no investigation into the possible origins of the round. Add to that the timing of the assassinations and the Welsh-Kanteerian tensions and something is not right. (OOC: End classified IC info.) Then Lavo began to speak, in a clear but powerful voice.

Quote

"It has come to my attention that certain blocs we are a part of have in ways that go against their original intentions, and allies that have acted in rather despicable manners. As such, I announce with a heavy heart the Rebel Army cancels and voids every single treaty it has save for the PAC treaty and the MoADP we have with the Uberstein Empire. The UES has constantly failed to act in the interests of European unity, as seen with the Kanteero-Welsh tensions, and it's failure to peacefully resolve the Proxia-Uberstein conflict. It also failed to act against rights violations and violent state-sponsored actions which was more recently seen with the admittance of and failure to act in the USSR. Then there is the SI... The SI was meant to be a unification of rational and rather classy world powers, but what it has become is a WC with teeth, something it wished to avoid at all costs. The SI has become exactly what it hated and stood opposed to, as seen with this pointless war of expansion and aggression. With that, I must take my leave."

With that, Lavo took his leave and walked back into the Knesset, to address other issues.

We are glad that you have not canceled the PAC treaty.

Uberstein applauds this action. "Finally, a great friend of mine makes the right move, and sees the UES for what it is."

While we are shocked by this announcement, we are not disappointed. Arctica congratulates its allies and will stand by them.

Although we are surprised and shocked by this announcement, we shall stand by the Rebel Army.

"Wow is all I can say. I never saw this coming, to be honest. The fact that Lavo and I had similar thoughts regarding the UES and announce it on the same day is just creepy. "

"I would have announced it earlier in the week had it not been for Yom Kippur. Though yes, it is a strange coincidence."

OOC: Hmm 4 cancelations on one day and all planned way before(I was thinking about leaving UES for a while now too) really creepy.

Btw your guess is right Phoenician Special Ops fire 5 shots, 4 at the heart one at the head.

Promised Land is mildly shocked, but as we are not in any of the treaties or such that the Rebel Army is canceling, we are not heavily affected.
