VNN:
Nevassa (Arcannez), Vaule-

We are reporting live from Nevassa, the capital city of the Arcannez region. Fortunately the city was spared from any major damage during the recent war. The story is very different to the east, where there is extensive damage to much of the infrastructure in the area. Signs of recent combat may be found almost anywhere in the region.

While the war remained restricted to Arcannez Province for the most part, there was some fighting in the nearby province of Faron. As the guns have fallen silent it is now the time to assess the damage in the area, both humanitarian and military. Current estimates suggest that the conflict claimed the lives of almost 450 civilians all across Vaule, but it is likely that the estimate will be revised as the damage assessment continues.

The Vaule military has counted the number of military casualties at 13,000 with nearly 21,000 injured in the conflict. The Military has set up a number of makeshift hospitals and humanitarian aid centers across Faron and Arcannez provinces. In a symbolic gesture a group of Vaule citizens in West Arcannez raised the national flag over the rubble of the regional Parliament building.

In other news, the Imperator made a visit to a field hospital in central Arcannez that is treating those injured in the conflict. While there the Imperator requested a full report on the status of the situation in the province and the reconstruction effort. The Imperator also made the announcement, that he will be conferring the nation’s highest civilian award to the leaders of the “Vaule Liberation Army” for their “outstanding bravery in the face of what appeared to be insurmountable odds”. A detailed list of all the awards being given by the Vaule government will be released shortly.

The Imperator also took the time to deliver a speech to the members of the coalition:

“To those who assisted us in our time of need, we are eternally grateful. Vaule is truly proud to call you allies. From members of the RUSSIAN pact, to nations as far away as Byzantium, BlackKnight and the Republic, to those nearby, I express the sincere gratitude of Vaulians everywhere for your assistance. To our neighbors Rossiskaya and the Villages, we pledge to offer assistance as you rebuild your nations from the aftermath of a truly serious war. It is my hope that the ties between our nations may be strengthened as time passes. ”-ImperatorAzenquor

In the capital Sygh-Varthys, the national flag was lowered to half mast in respect to those who lost their lives in the recent war. Inside the Parliament, the members voted to maintain Vaule’s State of Martial law for at least another 3 days.

In international news it has been announced that Emperor Ranather of Franzharia will visit Vaule in the coming weeks as a part of his Imperial tour. The Foreign Ministry has released little information about the visit at this time except that the Franzharian Emperor will arrive at the Sygh-Varthys International airport at some point.

Should Vaule need any assistance, any, all it needs to do is ask. We shall help Vaule in any way.

*Message to the governments of the New Byzantine Empire and Promised Land*
We thank you for your gracious offer of assistance. Most of the damage to the area is infrastructural and will be costly to repair. While we are able to finance the repairs, our own supply of construction materials is limited due to the vast construction boom in central Vaule so we are unable to secure an additional supply of such materials to repair the vast areas damaged by the conflict. If you would permit us to purchase such materials from you, we would be extremely grateful.
Signed,
Yuri Rokossovsky, Prime Minister of Vaule
*End of message*

Sygh-Varthys, Vaule:

Inside a stormy session of Parliament today, approximately $37 million has been allocated for recovery programs in the West Arcannez region which was devastated in the war. The measure initially had broad support in the Parliament until the Presidential Military Triumvirate moved to add an additional clause adding $12 million to the expansion of Vaule’s Barents Sea Naval fleet.

The move, made at such a critical time, has made an unpopular Presidential Triumvirate even more unpopular. A recent Vaule News Network poll has suggested that only 6% of Vaule citizens have a favorable opinion of the Presidential Triumvirate while 90% oppose and 4% hold no opinion. In addition, those polled were asked if they would like to have a Presidential election now. The response was an overwhelming Yes, with 68% of Vaulians wanting an immediate election.

When we contacted the Office of the Imperator for comment on this, we received the following response:

“The expansion of the Barents Sea fleet had been proposed some time ago, but was not carried out. Now more than ever we are concerned about our security, and this is a vital measure. The additional infusion of $12 million into the project is to expedite the completion of the fleet expansion and will in no way undermine the relief efforts in Arcannez.
I understand the feelings of frustration that people have toward the Presidential Triumvirate, which are exacerbated by the fact that the Triumvirate was not elected, and is an extension of the military. However, until the circumstances which brought about the need for such a Triumvirate have been resolved, the Triumvirate will remain in power and there will not be a Presidential election. It is my firm intention to see that the situation is smoothed out shortly. Once that is done, then we may return to having a civilian President and Presidential Elections.

That is all.”
-ImperatorAzenquor

When we contacted the Office of Prime Minister Rokossovsky, we were told that he is currently on the ground in Arcannez assisting in the recovery effort and could not issue a response at this time. With the vast outpouring of support from within Vaule the government has estimated that the Arcannez region may be restored to its pre-war condition in 2 to 3 years.

The Senate dispatched a reply to the Government of Vaule:

***Message to the Vaule Government***
You don't need to purchase materials; we're sending them over to you, free of charge. Do not worry about paying us back; you do not have to do that. What we want to, is, to see Vaule become strong once again (OOC: I'm not sure how to word this properly, heh), for it is one of our beloved friends, and we care for our friends.

---

Planes filled with construction supplies and equipments were dispatched from the New Byzantine Empire to Vaule.

If we can primarily assist Vaule financially, due to our location.

Just give us the word, Vaule.

**Private Message to Vaule**

Our forces will be withdrawing, since Vaule officially stabilized and nothing is left other than reconstruction. If you would like them to stay, do say so. But until then, they'll be marching to your northern coast along the Arctic Ocean where they will go abroad on Sargun's fleet.

It was an honor fighting along side you. I salute you.

Vaule News Network Update:

The government’s search to procure construction materials has ended due to the generous contribution of resources from New Cymru and the New Byzantine Empire. The contribution of the needed materials to Vaule, at no expense, has gone a long way toward providing the necessary materials for reconstruction of the areas damaged during the war.

Once the additional materials arrive, the pace of reconstruction will be increased. The government has announced that a number of the individual houses damaged or destroyed during the conflict will be replaced by modern high rise apartments.

In other news:

On the first day of trading since the war and the implementation of government reforms, the Vaule Stock Market slipped by 18.7% of its total volume in the first two hours of trading. Additionally two of Vaule’s largest Insurance Companies have announced plans to declare bankruptcy due to an inability to pay the large sums of money claimed by persons from the Arcannez region. The two companies, Vaule Mutual Insurance Co. and Northern Insurance, are required to pay out nearly $ 970 million each in insurance claims.

The government response to the impending collapse of the two insurance companies was announced only minutes ago:

“This is indeed a serious problem. It is clear that these two companies have been operating in breach of a number of regulatory laws set by the government. In addition there has also been a failure on the part of the Business Regulation Committee (BRC) who should have been monitoring these companies. The government has decided to open a full investigation into both these companies and their CEOs.”-Finance Minister

The government also approved a number of measures aimed at determining the circumstances leading up to the collapse of the two insurance giants.”

Quote

The Vaule Parliament resolves to do the following:

-Open a full investigation into both Vaule Mutual and Northern Insurance Companies
-Require all company executives to submit salary payment information for the last three years (Including any bonuses received)
-Launch a full investigation into the actions of both companies in granting insurance policies that they could not pay on.
-Suspend any further pay due to the company Executives until the conclusion of the investigation
-Seize all assets remaining in both companies until the Investigation has been completed
-Suspend trading of both companies on the Stock Exchange
-Formation of an Investigative Committee to lead the government Investigation
-All members of the Business Regulation Committee are dismissed and subject to investigation

Results-
445-Yes, 35-No, 20-Abstain (Measure Passes)

The government has given the go-ahead for the Judiciary to issue subpoenas to all involved persons at both companies, as well as the BRC to be brought before the Courts to explain their actions. If the CEOs and business executives are found to have mismanaged company funds while receiving large cash bonuses, the Court has the power to seize both the assets of the companies and the assets of the individual executives in order to cover the company’s financial obligations.

***Private communication to Vaule***

Even if you have plenty of construction materials, we assume you still need food and tools for the workers. We are sending these things even as this message is being transmitted.

We are sorry to hear about Vaule's financial trouble. It is for this reason that war is not insured against by any of our countries' insurance brokers.
