I posted the legalize it post about weed and to my surprise alot of people posted there opinions and cared. In recent years people have thought the penaltys for crack and other hard drugs were to heavy. I think they are fine and if anything should be increased. Hard drugs ruin people lifes unlike weed which brings joy to it. :) What do you think?

LEGALIZE IT!!!!!

(My mother has strugled with crack adiction for 10 years so I know what im talking about when I say it ruins lifes.)

hard to argue for increasing penalties about these drugs while ignoring alcohol.

just sayin, its another thing to consider.

I think the answer to drug use is through education, not incarceration. Give good and honest education on the benefits and effects of drugs (not "just say no"). Give easy access to rehabilitation and accessible paths out of addiction. Put the focus here rather than on punishment.

Save the punishment for dealers and smugglers, if you're going to keep hard drugs illegal.

Current drug laws are incredibly stupid across the board. Hard drugs can ruin people's lives. How do we stop the drugs from ruining their lives? Throw them in jail longer!

Don't be hypocritical. I have a right to $%&@ up my body with soft and hard drugs. As long as I'm not hurting anyone else, it's my business.

I hate everything about alcohol. The taste, the feeling, the smell but I hate the drugs above more then anything. People will do nearly anything to get there high and it really changes a person. For example my mom. She was a loving house wife and mother of 3 and she was at a party one night took one hit of crack and has been hooked ever since. Shes dirt poor now to which is really sad.

But if they make alcohol illegal, it'll just become a major source of income for criminals.

Oh wait...

What justification can there possibly be for the punishment of the use (and only the use) of any of these drugs?

How am I being hypocrictical!? Do what you want and mess up your own life. I think these drugs are horribal compared to anything. A drunk, a pothead, a ciggarete smoker, nothing compares to a junkie. It mess's up a person bad.

How badly it messes you up is irrelevant. It is my right to mess myself up.

You do have a point. I just think if ur caught you should be punished but not as harshly if ur a user. If you were a dealer then you should get at least 10 years.

How? Im saying smoke crack and mess up ur life. I think weed is fine. It does barely any damage to ur lungs and body compared to tobbaco.

No one is denying crack will screw you up. I don't think anyone has said people should go out and start snorting Charlie or anything.

But no one can tell another person what to do with their own body. That's the point. People have the right to screw themselves up.

Gonna have to agree with mastab. If people want to do crack or heroin then let them go for it. Try to tell them it's bad for them if you want but in the end it's their decision.

Shouldn't the people decide this for themselves?

That's not really an argument. If I want to do crack, it's my business. It doesn't matter if I get addicted or my life is ruined - it is my right to do it.
