USSR internet dissident arrested

The government has tried to crack down on internet dissent. A Slovet dissident who has been in detention has been formally arrested on charges of subversion. The Telegraph Agency of the Slovet Union news agency said Maxim Ivanovic had written 57 articles on local newspapers and internet aimed at the overthrow of Slovetzia's socialist system.

Maxim had also campaigned for another internet activist, who was eventually released. In recent months Slovetzia has stepped up controls on information use and access. "Ivan had overstepped his legal rights of criticising government work and government functionaries with good intentions and viciously incited subversion of state power through fabrications," TASU quoted a police spokesman as saying.

A statement from the Marxist Republic of Azzar

The Marxist Republic of Azzar stands in solidarity with the USSR in it's crackdown on subversive counter-revolutionary elements trying to bring down the legitimate government of the USSR. Further more the Marxist Republic finds it highly hypocritical that amoung the leading voices of international criticism are nation leaders who have arrested and executed members of dissent movements within their own countries. Lastly, the Marxist Republic would like to remind the nations of the world that human and civil rights do not and have never extended so far as to allow a small and loud minority to threaten, undermine, nor subvert the lawful government of a nation.

Ironically, what they hoped to shut down became soon known by all. The websites full of information about the Human Rights violations perpetrated by the Slovetzian Government was alive in several International Mirrors, so while in the past only Slovetzians would likely see this information, now the whole world is.

Also, Austrians have completed their "Wall of Garbage" to shield themselves from the USSR.
