Ignoring an international outcry, USSR began demolishing German Reich era symbols across the country on Thursday, including a Kaiser Martens' bronze statue. Slovet President Boris Pochenko told TASU the destruction of scores of pre-Slovet figures and symbols, designed to stop the worshipping of "false idols," had begun throughout the country.
Supreme Command of the People's Army of Slovetzia had ordered the destruction of the German Reich era symbols, including the year-old bronze Kaiser, and Bomb Squads fanned out across the country Thursday to implement the USSR President's order.
He said crowds started wrecking the German Era symbols all over the Country after sunrise. "The work started about five hours ago but I do not know how much of it has been destroyed," Pochenko said. "It will be destroyed by every means. The statue is being destroyed." He said Slovet soldiers were at "work" in the Berezina museum and elsewhere in the Kazalinsk SSR
An edict announced by the USSR's leader, President Boris Pochenko, calling for the destruction of all German symbols in line with Slovet laws, has caused shock around the world.
The Nordlanders, otherwise known as "Germans" and also the local Martens Loyalist Slavs had already an extremely hard time trying not to be skeptical towards the newly-risen dictator, Pochenko, who with his Communism seemed to be the exact opposite of what had been in the land for 100 years. That, and they were in a bad mood as it was after losing the war and experiencing so much death.
Then, they had to witness the destruction of their cultural identity: All Nordlandic, German, and Slavic Pagan symbols were being systematically erased or destroyed, to the point in which even the own soldiers tasked with doing this now and then did not feel right about what they were doing. Before the Kaiser's statue was broken, people began to call out.
The country was littered with cultural symbols, and Martens had made a good job of merging the old cultures into one thing. The people had to endure a lot, but this was the drop that caused the glass to finally spill. Basically then and there when Pochenko made his announcement, violence erupted when the angry crowd rushed the outnumbered, unexpecting parading army to overwhelm them bloodily.
Riots began throghout all major cities, and little towns were divided between "Anti-Martencists" and "Martencists", a sizeable part of the army including two Major Generals defected and began to protect the people. As the Army had been led to many victories and only one defeat, they were torn. In the middle of the chaos, people with their own personal agendas started to fight for their own non-Pochenko and non-Martens related beliefs.
The people were trained, and soon would use their guns (Which were of mandatory posession) and molotov bombs in a massive uprising against Pochenko. People from other parts of the country moved over to the capital, wanting to shoot Pochenko with a thousand bullets.

Pochenko had rubbed his people the wrong way. Many had fled to other lands, in particularily to Prussia, who were quick to announce that they would only accept unarmed individuals and that they would initiate military action if any Martencist Units decided to recruit from them or use them as cover.
Of course, the Martencist Units flew the Raven's Banner, Martens' Banner, and named themselves the "White Army", much in the fashion of an ancient legendary revolution.

OOC: Odds are approximately 60-40 in favor of Pochenko, without counting neutrals and those fleeing.
