Despicable but not surprising. Politicians are a special breed of hypocrites.

Ohh, this isn't it either. I've got yet another video I'm gonna post.

But yes, what the hell is wrong with these people? I showed my dad the video and he said he wasn't surprised. He said they should get a computer system for it, not an "antiquated mickey mouse button system".

Wow. I wonder if they get permission from the people gone to vote for them. Because otherwise I seriously doubt a rep would like having legislation that he or she didn't approve of voted for with their button. It is probably along the lines of "vote on these measures for me so I can get lunch." Still I am hardly surprised, politician and hypocrite seem to be synomynous.

I laughed when that lady was complaining about not getting a lunch break. I'm sure it must be very challenging to press buttons for other people all day.

Nothing really surprises me anymore. I've stopped worrying about stuff like this and started buying ammunition. I sleep much better now.

lol but as long as you still pay taxes to these people you are still supporting them... so what good is guns and ammunition if you still live under their laws?

Because one of these days enough people will wake up and see that the Demicans and Republicrats are one in the same, and the new Republidemocratican party will ban all the other parties and stop pretending that they havn't already tossed out the Bill of Rights. Then it will be time to start shooting.

Of course by then they will have probably locked me up as a "lunatic gun nut" for the new crime of stockpiling guns and ammunition and writing bad things about the government on the internet. "It's for the children, you know. Think of the children."

I like the system in the house of commons.

In the fist round of voting, at the fist reading of a bill, they are asked to shout aye or nay. The side which shouts the loudest wins. If they can't decide, they have to walk through a yeas or no door, and are counted.

Nah, they'll just say "How can other capitalists be so opposed to the state, an institution which not only is allied with capitalism but is required by capitalism?"

Then they shoot all the socialists.

Given how many guns you have, if anyone takes you alive I will be impressed. Taking you dead would be easier. I assume you don't have any heat seekers, so bombing you might work.

I don't have that many guns, and have never claimed to. I am, however, very good with the ones that I do have.

I doubt that. We're headed for socialism anyway, with President Shrub paving the way for Shrillary to sell us the same 15 year old socialized medicine plan her husband couldn't manage to cram down our throat.

I wonder why they still have elections.

Social democracy is capitalism. The idea is, give the workers something of a social safety net, and they will be less likely to revolt and actually overthrow the rule of the capitalist.

Elections give the people the false belief that they actually have some control over their government. They think they can change things by voting for the slightly less conservative Democrats, rather than trying to make actual changes themselves. These changes would most likely be towards a socialist system (and no, socialism is not capitalism with a powerful state that controls significant amounts of the economy).

This is my view... especially the first sentence. That is how Roosevelt calmed down the people, by making them feel like they have well being when in fact they do not...

not all of us can view videos. Some of us are at work or in places where we can't watch these things. Can you please include a text summary so we know what the story is about?

not strange at all. Text displaying on a screen is not disruptive to my customer service duties. Sound playing and video running would be.

Basically, the CBS reporters who did the story started out talking about the voter laws that Texas lawmakers were making, which would effectively make sure you only voted once. Then, they showed video footage form inside the legislature. The lawmakers, while voting, would hit their own vote button then reach over or walk over or whatever and vote for the person next to them...and behind them...and beside the person behind them...and in front of them and so on. There were cases where they would vote 3 or even 4 times.

I'm from Texas, and I must say I despise our Legislature. Its rediculous. They focus on trivialities, but ignore big things like EDUCATION! SO im not suprised.
