Current Situation: Allows the user to search by resources (1 or 2) and team color.
The Problem: Many times people don't care what color their resources come from, they are just desperate to find them anywhere. It is quite annoying to have to go through each color separately to message people that have the resources you want.

Changes to Make: Put an option to search all of the teams at once as well as just 1 team at a time. This option would show all of the nations in the game that have the resources you want. Also, allow the user to search by age of the nation. This way you can narrow your search instead of searching the entire game for the resources.

Why is this better? This is better because you won't have to search each color separately for the resources you want, and you will be able to only show those nations that fit the age requirement that you have set. The age requirement will cut down on the number of search results returned as well as help narrow the search for the type of trade partner the user is looking for.

If this would bog down the server, then only allow this option when you are looking for 2 resources to fit exactly instead of 1 (That would be alot of results).

I find the ATF to be frustrating and in need of two important changes.

#1) Allow a checkbox that when activated only returns results for nations with open trade slots.

#2) Allow a checkbox that when activated only returns results for nations that do not already have trades with your base resources.

These are really needed now.

I endorse the OP.

The trade slots available wouldn't really change much since you can see their slots on the righthand part of the screen in your search result anyway, so you can quickly see who has open slots or not

These are excellent ideas, as I'm sure anyone who's tried to set up a trade circle will testify.

If you don't care which team your resources come from, then you can easily use the regular trade search - unless you're looking for more than 2 resources, I suppose.

You can already do that.

Just use the normal search tool with the 'Resources' option. No need to add anything.

You can already do this stuff. Just go to the advanced trade finder, check the resources you are looking for, then select the team you want.

But I also think that nations with full trade slots should not appear on the search... I mean we are obviously searching to look for trades, why would we send an offer to someone who is filled up with trades?

The point is that you need to do 12 different searches to get a complete list of all the nations in the game with the specific resource combo that you are looking for

also...mebbe because some people might be looking to drop some of their trades and would do so in favour of your specific trade combo. In any case there should be a checkbox that people could tick to exclude nations who's trade slots are full

This is correct but to help make the tool a little easier to use I've added 'Any' as a selection for the team choice.
