Preamble
In the interest of friendship, protection, and guidance the Order of Righteous Nations (TORN) and the The Council of Dark Nations(CDN) agree to the following protectorate agreement.
Article I: Sovereignty
TORN and The Council of Dark Nations recognize each other as sovereign and separate alliances.
Article II: Peace and Respect
TORN and The Council of Dark Nations will coexist in a state of peace. Neither alliance will attack the other militarily or verbally. Both alliances will remain respectful towards each other at all times and any differences will be handled via private discussion.
Article III: Protection and Defense
An attack on The Council of Dark Nations will be considered an attack on TORN, and will be met with all available strength in defense, unless the attack is a result of an offensive action on another sovereign alliance, in which case TORN retains the option to enter the conflict or not. Should TORN find itself engaged in war, The Council of Dark Nations has the right, but not the obligation, to assist in any way possible, including but not limited to financial and military support.
Article IV: Aid and Progress
TORN will aid The Council of Dark Nations when able to help them grow as an alliance. TORN also assumes the responsibility for the success and growth of The Council of Dark Nations and will offer all the assistance and guidance that it can provide.
Article V: Advisor
The Council of Dark Nations will grant a TORN member nominated by TORN government at minimum a base member mask. This TORN advisor will be available to assist The Council of Dark Nations on request wherever possible. Any permissions granted above a base member mask are at the pleasure of the The Council of Dark Nations, and not governed in this agreement.
Article VI: Aggression and Treaty Signing
The Council of Dark Nations agrees to alert TORN if they have decided to go on the offensive towards another alliance at least 24 hours before doing so. The Council of Dark Nations will never declare war on another alliance without first discussing it with TORN leadership. The Council of Dark Nations will also contact TORN before signing any treaties with other alliances and will discuss such decisions with them.
Article VII: Merging and Disbandment
In the sad event that The Council of Dark Nations decides it can no longer function as an alliance, The Council of Dark Nations agrees to contact TORN leadership. If possible disbandment is an option, The Council of Dark Nations agrees to contact TORN within 24 hours to discuss other options. The Council of Dark Nations also agrees that if they have decided they can no longer exist as a sovereign alliance, they will merge into TORN and will be welcomed as members. TORN agrees to do everything they can to help The Council of Dark Nations avoid such a fate.
Article VIII: Cancellation
Both parties agree to give each other 48 hour notice before canceling this treaty, during which all articles will be upheld.
Article IX: Timeline
Upon ratification by their respective alliance’s legislative process this treaty is enacted for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days, at which time it shall be subject to renewal or possible upgrade, or until it is terminated by either signatory. Should either party decide it is not in their interests to retain this treaty, it may at any time by canceled as per Article VIII. Violations of this agreement are grounds for dissolution of this agreement without prior notice.
