Congratulations Athens on becoming an up and coming new alliance...
On a more serious note, here is the FINAL official statement...
We at FINAL acknowledge Athens as a new alliance... New name + New Consitution + New Government = New Alliance... As such we break all ties that might be assumed to have followed our friends from Camelot to Athens...
We would love for you guys to come by and visit from time to time, even set up a new embassy, but we feel slighted that you did not announce this merger on our forums for 9 days after it was posted here, even though we were supposed to be Camelot's protectorate...

Actually, this statement comes as a result of 5 .gov leaving FINAL to join Athens because they could not agree with our policies and still make war... It's a bummer they couldn't help work this out instead, but our destiny lies elsewhere, and this is the first step towards it...

I understand why you had to do this, FINAL, and it's a particularly odd situation that a Protector didn't both to tell their charge that they were merging or going to war. And when faced with the retreat of your alliance government and major internal issues, it's best just to chill out and re-evaluate your situation. Following a treaty that had been neglected significantly certainly wouldn't be an option.
Best of luck to FINAL and Athens for their futures. I hope our Aqua allies can reconcile the differences and become friends again.

OOC: Honor is a funny word to be throwing around in this war...
IC: Good luck FINAL, it's a shame you didn't know about the merger, you'd think a true ally would tell you those kinds of things. That being said, how could we expect you to fight by their side, if they didn't even spare the time to inform you of a merger...?

Also after how HoTU and Camelot and MK tried to help you out with the FARK situation and were ready to do whatever was necessary to protect I was hoping you'd be alittle more grateful to them rather than harass them and from the sound of it Athens probably informed the ex-leaders and it just wasn't passed down. I can't see Londo overlooking that.

Hopefully, after this war, those members of FINAL who left to fight along side our friends in Athens will be able to fix the name of FINAL. JD, I am very disappointed in you. Posting this was a very, very bad idea. Either way, good luck. You're going to need it.

I told at LEAST one of the FINAL triumvirs about the coming merger before it happened. In fact, I remember doing so, because I was asked if the protectorate would transfer over, and I told them that indeed it would. The merger announcement also clarified that ALL treaties were being carried over on our end.
I am also sure that I talked to FINAL about entering this war and suggesting they stay the hell out of it. We are ill-prepared to be on the vastly outnumbered, losing side of a GW, but FINAL is COMPLETELY unprepared. I have told that to more than one ally who offered to help us - "Stay the hell out of it!" Considering that FINAL has been coming and talking to us in our new IRC channel and vice versa for quite some time now, the idea that we haven't been in diplomatic contact the whole time is quite ludicrous.
Athens acknowledges the cancellation of our protectorate agreement on FINAL's part, and we salute all the members of FINAL who have bravely joined us in what they know full well to be a hopelessly unwinnable war, not out of foolishness or hatred, but in defense of their friends. There is no greater love.
In a way, this war is a great thing for Athens. The disloyal and the cowards run, but the brave stay behind, close ranks, and fight on. We have the resolve to continue for as long as our friends are in need of our assistance. We will not falter in this commitment.
