Brief SOLID Announcement, ITT: Just affirming our nuke policy Rating Options

SOLID Official Announcement

I'd just like to give everyone a brief explanation of SOLID's nuclear weapons policy.
In SOLID, we view nuclear weapons as a dishonorable tool of war for a few reasons. Firstly, and most significantly, the global radiation counter. SOLID is always in favor of the welfare of Planet Bob in general, and a high global radiation is detrimental to everyone. Also, it's a cowardly way to ruin the fun of a war. As I said in my war address, this game is meant for fun, and we can all argue that the most fun part of the game is warring. A click of the wrong button can ruin the fun for a few nations, and pretty soon, there's a lot of people on both sides being taken out of the fun. As stupid as that sounds, it's the truth.

So, naturally, disapproving of the use of nuclear weapons, SOLID does not and will not launch preemptive nuclear weapons. To do so is a breach of our laws, and any members who do so will be expelled from SOLID, and considered our enemy. However, some situations call for SOLID members to use nuclear weaponry defensively.

Obviously, among these situations is a direct nuclear attack on a nation, in which case, the nation is permitted to return fire with nukes on the nation that fired it. Additionally, a spy attack against a SOLID nation's nuclear arsenal is considered a nuclear attack. Naturally, the nature of spy attacks sometimes does not allow the victim to see who has attacked them, in which case it is assumed that all nations currently at war with the victim are considered attackers. SOLID members have their nuclear arsenals as a measure of self-defense against rogue nations, and will never use them offensively, thus we consider it a great offense to attack them.

tl;dr:
-SOLID will never launch a first strike nuke.
-Any SOLID nation who launches a first strike nuke is considered an enemy of SOLID.
-If a nation nukes a SOLID nation, that nation will be nuked back.
-Any known spy attempts on a SOLID nation's nuclear arsenal is considered a nuclear attack.
-If a SOLID members gets nukes destroyed by spies, investigations and preventative measures will be invoked in order for justice to be served.

Yes, no doubt. Well, it won't carry too much weight with you, but I'll personally attack any "ally" of mine who spy attacks a SOLID nuke in hopes of getting us to launch. Then again, I doubt any of my allies would.

Also, I didn't post this in the OP, but I'd like to just give my personal compliments to the honor of Valhalla. I'm currently fighting two nations who each have 20 nukes, I have none. They haven't launched one.
Can't say I like what yavanna's Navy is doing to me, but truly, hats off to those two.

Well, in a state of war it is safe to assume that the people you are at war are the people that would be spying on me.

Not really, there are other alliances whom would want you to start nuking, as you'd get it back.... and so one

Gecko wasn't exactly 100% clear with his response.

We will investigate any spy attacks to the best of our ability.
If we do know who sent it, the nuclear retaliation be aimed at them.

Also, as I said earlier, if someone who is not involved in the war, or someone on SOLID's side is spying on nukes to provoke a nuclear war, and their plan does indeed work, (assuming we find out) SOLID would, of course, feel responsible to pay for any wrongful damage done by our nukes. . . along with giving that certain person a taste of those same nukes.

We may be at war, but we are certainly not without our usual honor and courtesy.

I find this thread amusing for its naivety of an alliances leadership. SOLID leadership allowing nuclear first strikes? You have neither the politcial or military power to prevent repurcussions, few alliances do; your government will end up on a few ZI lists; go ask FAN and GOONs how it worked for them.
