Promised Land wishes to inquire if foreign press will be allowed to send representatives to this debate.

Ishiopia inquires as well. If so, the IBBC (Ishiopian Blogging and Broadcasting Corporation; its our version of the BBC, main private, though subsidized, media source) will send a correspondent, as will the other private news outlets. Our state media outlet, the Ishiopian News and Media Service as assigned one of its member syndicates, the Ishiopian News Network (INN) to send a journalist as well.

GNN ( Government News Network ) from the Empire of Arizona also sends its request to send a journalist. The Emperor also sends good luck to all the candidates.

OOC: Why there? It seems it would be more appropriate to have it here, in this section...

Andrei Kovalenko addresses the RA

Posted Image

Quote

Fight Sahrani over a small strip of land? Even when a local country nearly three times as powerful then you had a massive part of it's air force and navy active, as well as a large counter-invasion group, to combat whichever side would fire the first shots? You my good sir, are out of your bloody mind. I hope for Slovorussia's sake, that you don't get into power, as it's clear you have no idea how to not get yourself killed and introduce your country to hell.

Andrei Kovalenko responded to what he called “a threatening letter” sent to him by officials of the RA last week. He presented the letter to the Slavorussian Parliament, where it was received with mixed emotions. Kovalenko pulled apart and analyzed every line of the letter and challenged the RA on several statements. “Had the RA been in our position they would have done the same. It’s important to remember that the Trucial Colonies were under Slavorussian administration for some time now and there were thousands of Slavorussian citizens living there. Sahrani had and still has no right to those lands and it was our right to right over every last inch of land.”

He went on to read the rest of the letter which concerned some members of parliament. He interpreted the last lines as a threat against his life and the wellbeing of the empire. “They see that we are recovering from a war which caused serious damage to our homeland, and they seek to take advantage of that. There have been threats made on my life, but I will not let this dictate how I run my campaign. I will not let the RA or any nation try to influence Slavorussia.” Kovalenko says he will continue to campaign and will not let any alleged threats slow his campaing.
