Zone of he Enders tells the story of Leo Stenbuck, a young man who lives in a colony floating outside the atmosphere of Jupiter. It is suddenly attacked by an unknown force of Orbital Frames. Their mission? To secure or destroy a brand new state-of-the-art Orbital Frame dubbed Jehuty. After seeing his friends die before his eyes, Leo stumbles upon the hangar that holds Jehuty. When the warehouse is suddenly attacked by a Raptor (a type of Orbital Frame) the cockpit suddenly opens and he falls inside, finding protection inside of it. The computer ADA greets him, and he begins learning how to pilot it, defending from the Raptor and later on Viola (a runner piloting an Orbital Frame called Neith).
Over the game he gathers new abilities for Jehuty, from a spread machine gun to a decoy to fool enemies.

The second game, Anubis, picks up years down the line. The main character, Dingo Egret (Don't ask), is a miner for metatron, the material that makes Orbital Frames (metatron is supposed to be famous for it's ability to compress space). His equipment says that there seems to be a large deposit of metatron, and remarks that it's far too shallow to be underground. Finding a huge hangar, he enters it to find Jehuty. As he examines it he and his pals are attacked by a military group called BAHRAM, who had just found Jehuty as well. Dingo escapes from the scene and goes on to learn more about Jehuty and its twin, Anubis, and what they are intended for.

Yanno...I didn't even realize there was a demo in it till I opened the case. Man I loved those games...pure Konami goodness. I haven't heard a peep of ZOE3. Does ZOE2 even leave room for a 3rd game?

Heh, not really.
They are making a third, however, so there must have been something left open. I want to hear more about it badly, though.

Yeah. You should probably watch Evangelion (it gets pretty awesome), but just know that Shinji is, like, Leo's long lost twin brother from another dimension.
