As a small and humble Nation I noticed a fledgling alliance being attacked by a ruthless terrorist. I am shocked at the arrogance and lack of decorum of the nation Redline ruled by Fatosaurus. After watching him attack and tech raid these brave infant nations I came to their defense. I offered peace if he stopped raiding these simple and humble nations. His response was:

Hello. I am giving you an opportunity to comply with simple peace terms, or continue with a war that will lead to your - AND YOUR FRIENDS' (yes, your actions will reflect on how badly they are destroyed) - nations being destroyed.

1) Reparations - $6,000,000 to Redline; $3,000,000 to Fester.

2) Decommission all cruise missiles and tanks

3) Hold no more than 30% of your citizens in soldier numbers.

4) Decommission all airplanes

5) Your friend who attacked me back, while trying to catch me after you hit me, for his cowardly actions will need to pay me the sum of $1,000,000 and 50 tech.

If these demands are not agreed to, I will make an example out of Alanna Rose. Her fate rests in your hands.

Since these demands were impossible to meet we declined. His response:

Then your friends will pay for you being so stubborn. And trust me, ZIing you won't "cost me dearly". I'll just get a few 3m aid packages and be good to go. You and your friends, however, won't be getting aid when this is all said and done.


I refuse to give in to the demands of terrorist. I will never surrender. I will fight valliantly. It is better to die a noble death in defense of what is right rather than bow my head in submission. I ask that any other brave and honorable nations rise to the defense of rightousness.

I have sent a message to my alliance's leader. He will message me back. For now, I will declare war on your enemy, and if my alliance leader veto's my proposal, I will move to a different alliance. Best of luck.

I believe that if MARS doesn't pay up, or surrender, they'd be crushed. This is because Redline's alliance is protected by RoK and an attack on him, is an attack on Ragnarok. Go figure.

Not trying to disagree with you good sir, but it was my understanding (as my alliance leadership told me during my acadmey training) that RoK was one of the more upstanding alliances in the game, and that they did not engage in, nor support or defend the more seemly and dispicable actions sometimes seen on planet bob. Such actions as I was told included for example forced recruitment and as appears here, extortion.

Being a new leader here, I may misunderstand what constitutes extortion, but so far it would seem (pending the evidence) that:

-Reps are being demanded beyond the capability of the nations involved to pay

-Reps are being demanded of a tech raid victim for fighting back after being attacked without provocation

-Reps are being demanded well beyond the damage caused

-Reps are being demanded to be paid to an uninvolved third party allied to the aggressor

-Reps are being demanded in the face of threat of violence against third party nations connected to the involved parties, not just the primary nations


All the above to me seems to fit the dictionary definition of 'extortion'. In fact it seems as if the tech raider is trying to turn this into the most profitable raid ever. Given that I was told raider etiquette usually involves accepting peace when requested without reps (white peace, as was stated here) it would seem that this would again fall out of the category of what is considered a standard raid on planet bob and intot he realm of attacking people to extort money from them.

Uther, yet I believe it is the attack on the Tech Raider which could have spurred on the demands. If I understand right, if MARS didn't want to be raided, they should find a Protectorate to protect them. I understand what you mean yet I will have to side with Redline on this.

I would agree, these demands for reparations are ludicrous. Redline declares war in hopes of free money, knowing full well that their target may attack back, and then they have the audacity to ask for reps done to HIS nation. Despicable.

If I were MARS, I would agree to reparations, but only after his attacker pays him the exact same reparations.

Upon further looking: Redline tags two members of MARS for tech raid, pizzazza comes to their aid, and is now being triple teamed. Poor show. It is my opinion (and happens to be our alliance stance) that if a nation wishes to tech raid and they find a "live one" who fights back, it is their own doing and they are left to fight it out themselves.

From what I've learned, MARS is getting a white peace from Redline, while Redsoxfreak has to pay $3 Million and 50 Tech in reps for attacking an aligned nation.

If my understanding is correct, and I believe it is, I believe the nation from TriCom went after a tech raider though it didn't involve him. Tech raiding IS allowed under TIA's charter. Attacking a nation under another AA over a certain amount of members (or one with a protectorate) does amount to war. I would ... tread carefully. However, I do not feel this will be "blown out of proportion."

@Franz- I know and that makes so much sense huh? Helping defend someone who is getting extorted automatically makes you have to pay nearly a full aid package.
Least respectable thing I've seen Ragnarok do so far in the history of this current nation and the one beforehand. Do you even think that small nation has the ability to MAKE 3 mil and then on top of that send 50 tech? This sounds completely like Ragnarok basically endorsing the extortion at hand right now.

Anyway speaking back on topic- I think most larger alliances would have a nation hanged for extortion, is Redline going to recieve any punishment at all?
