To quote Anthrax in their novelty song "Startin' Up A Posse", "Censorship's against/Everything America stands for". I mean, honestly, it's just a word. Ever hear of freedom of speech?
And as for religious reasons, it might be considered a sin to curse, but nowhere in the Bible does it mention any specific definitions of cursing, so...

It wasn't, it was just once again a person using something innocent (and in my eyes, quite kind considering other things girls have been called or could be) to gain the spotlight and make some ruckus. Imagine a national tragedy striking, not something small, but something huge. That would put our priorities back in order. While people are starving on the street we should not be worrying about how offensive "sweetie" is.
If sweetie is offensive, I'm suing Grandma.
