No he didn't. If he hadn't invaded Poland, the USSR (which had a farly weak army in 1939) would not have gained a hold in eastern Europe. Backed by France, Czechoslovakia, and Britain, Poland would have been able to stop any attempt to move west as long as the Germans either fought on our side or stayed out of it.

He investigated and helped the military dismantle communist parties. He stopped the commies from taking over Germany via elections.

He actually facilitated Communism, because he allowed it to enter Germany again via the conquest of Germany in 1945.
I'd say it's probably the Western Allies who stopped Communism, rly.
Also, there's no real "buts" about it: Hitler was evil. Period.

Is there something wrong with Communists being democratically elected?
Fat lot of good that did, when the USSR steamrolled Eastern Germany.

The communists never even got 100 seats. To get a majority I beleive you would need over 300.

I don't think communists would've seized Germany and started the global revolution even if Hitler didn't round them up.
