This question has been bugging me for a long time. I'm an avid YouTube user and I always look up videos ranging from Black Label Society to ZZ Top. I watch Pantera videos the most and I always tend to see someone say that Dimebag Darrell sucked, and on occasion deserved getting shot....

Every video of him I watch just blows me away with his guitar playing and joking manner. Why do people hate someone who actually was obscenely good at guitar, and was never mean to people?

Most comments like that are just people trying to be assholes. Youtube comments are never a good way to judge anything.

Pretty much what everybody else said. But to add to that, some of them are just idiots.

I was watching a video by one band (Black Tide I think) and somebody said that the band sucked. He then went to say that he thought Avenged Sevenfold was better. Somebody after him said that Avenged Sevenfold is crap and isn't Metal. He then listed some metal bands such as Iron Maiden and such, and then he lists A7X. Little to his knowledge, A7X and Avenged Sevenfold is the same band.

Hey, screw what those stupid people on Youtube say. They don't appreciate Dimebag and his talent. YOU KNOW that he was an amazing guitarist and a great person. These Youtube people are probably 9 and they're just trying to sound cool (which they're obviously failing at).

Pretty much this. Nobody who is into metal can really say after listen to Cowboys From Hell or Walk and say that Dimebag sucked and couldn't lay down some heavy guitar riffs. (The latter song being a long time favourite of mine)

Take it from someone who knows what he's talking about, Dimebag was an awesome musician, even from a technical standpoint alone. He ranks up in the best of the 90's, if not his entire generation. You sir, are COMPLETELY talking out of your $@!.

The ones saying its good he got shot are complete retards though.
