The nation of Myselfia announced earlier today the discovery of silver in their northern hills. A rush to Myselfia border has occurred, heavily populating the previously wilderness area.

Approximately... Breaking news! GOLD has been discovered in the Colorado Rockies! An independant firm was reportedly constructing a water purification plant for the local area. The firm has been bought out by Alagaesian Mining Corp, the largest mining company in Alagaesia.

An AMC mining team uses sonic detection equipment to calculate the size of the "Saphire Springs" vein.

The Sierra-Tahoe Mining Company and Cruachan Mineral Corporation are both interesting in investing in the silver mines in Myselfia. If the two mining companies are granted contracts to extract silver from the deposits in Myselfia, it will be exceptionally beneficial to both Tahoe and Myselfia. Both companies operate the most modern machinery in the safest way with highly trained employees. Environmental impact will be minimal and the economic benefit is huge for all parties involved.

A public relations worker with Tahoe-Sierra Mining Company released a memo assuring restless citizens of Myselfia that the environmental impact will be minimal and every measure will be taken to ensure the wildlife reserve is left even more pristine than it started out as. Senior members of environmental groups will be invited to inspect the mine once operations commence but any attempt to interupt the mining operation will be reported to the proper authorities. We remind people that mines are a dangerous place and trespassing could lead to injury or death. We don't expect it to be a problem though.

Breaking news!

Protests against gold mining in Alagaesia's western mountain range has turned violent. Earlier this morning, the Saphire Spring mine site exploded near the entrance. Four miners and a protester that was seen planting the bomb were killed, and 5 other miners were injured.

AMC has responded to the attack with the following statement:
"Alagaesian Mining Corp will not tolerate these acts of violence, even if it's 'for mother nature.' AMC has a high environmental policy, and any reasonable activist would see we are minimally effecting the local environment.

Due to the current and potential violence, AMC is closing the Saphire Springs mining site to the public, and will be hiring a double-shift security detail. All trespassers will be prosecuted, and any seen with intent for harm will be combated with non-lethal weaponry i.e. tazers."

A massive scandal has erupted today, as it is discovered that the "gold" vein was a massive hoax. Really only an abnormally sized iron vein, contractors lured in AMC funds by presenting gold "mined" from the area. AMC has not publicly responded as of yet.

Earlier today, 15 people were arrested attempting to illegally leave Alagaesia into Myselfia. When questioned as to their illegal immigration there, they stated "They have silver. Silver means money. That's something we don't have."

This is only the latest in a recent trend of illegal immigration after the Alagaesian government had the border with Myselfia closed to Alagaesians to keep the emmigration from destabilizing the country.

In light of recent events, King Thor has made the following proposal, to be approved by Parliament this afternoon.
"To maintain the stability of Alagaesia's and Myselfia's economies, Alagaesia will not only close the border to Alagaesian emmigrants but build an anti-illegal emmigration wall. While Myselfian citizens will be allowed to travel to and from Alagaesia, Alagaesian citizens are forbidden from travelling to Myselfia without special approval."
