Common Defense Treaty/SuperFriends Joint Announcement
The Common Defense Treaty and The SuperFriends have decided that since victory over the Illuminati has long been a foregone conclusion, we will be officially releasing all POWs from the CDT-SuperFriends/Illuminati War. As peace talks with Terry Howard have broken down, we will not be holding accountable those nations who have surrendered and have made the decision to move on from the fiasco that is The Illuminati. As of tonight, nations currently in POW status will be receiving the following message:
Dear [**insert alliance here**] POW,
It is unfortunate that you were caught up in a war caused by actions of the leadership of the Illuminati.
We understand that many members had nothing to do with those aggressive acts and wanted only to live in peace. Unfortunately, the Illuminati leadership chose to stonewall attempts at negotiating a peace, and the peace talks are now over. Sadly, this leaves many Illuminati members stuck in an unwinnable war.
To show we understand your predicament, we are announcing the release of all POWs currently in full compliance with the surrender terms who do not want to remain tied to the sinking ship of the Illuminati.
If you would like to join another alliance, you are free to do so with no strings attached. If, however, you wish to return to the Illuminati after the war, you will need to keep your POW status until the war ends.
Thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time, and we wish you the best of luck.
Keep in mind that this only applies to nations that have complied with POW terms and who are not on any "no surrender" or ZI lists. Any nations who choose to switch from POW back to Illuminati will once again be considered an enemy of CDT/SuperFriends and will be handled appropriately.
