Derka-Jihad - Atlantis Protectorate Agreement

Recently, Atlantis has become acquainted with the new alliance of Derka-Jihad who, though had a few members previously from the South Arctic Empire, all left on good terms and were able to form their own alliance. We thank SAE for their great understanding of the situation and congratulate them on their continued protectorate with MHA, which has served as a template for this treaty.


The following is a pact between the Atlantis and Derka-Jihad.

Preamble
For the purpose of maintaining a permanent and solid friendship, and promoting peace, stability and growth, Atlantis and the Derka-Jihad enter into the following Protectorate Agreement.

Article 1 - Protection
Atlantis agrees to offer political, financial and military support to Derka-Jihad whenever it is required. An attack on Derka-Jihad is considered an attack on Atlantis, and will be dealt with accordingly. Additionally, Atlantis may assist Derka-Jihad in offensive wars, if it is determined that the cause for war is justified. Derka-Jihad is not required to assist Atlantis in any wars, but may do so if they are willing.

Article 2 - Intelligence
Atlantis and Derka-Jihad agree to share any and all information pertaining to the security and welfare of the other.

Article 3 - Treaties
Derka-Jihad must obtain Atlantis's approval prior to signing any treaties with third parties. Atlantis assures Derka-Jihad that the process will be fair and balanced.

Article 4 - Cancellation

Subsection A - Renewal
Every 2 months after signing this agreement, both sides must agree to continue the agreement. Failure by either side to renew the treaty will result in it becoming null and void, and both sides will become subject to the cancellation process in Article 4.B.

Subsection B - Cooling Down
This treaty may be canceled at any time, provided that a 72 hour notice is provided by the canceling party. Both Atlantis and Derka-Jihad agree to discuss any and all issues before attempting to cancel the treaty. Once the notice has expired, Atlantis and Derka-Jihad agree to enter into a state of non-aggression for at least 96 hours.

Not so much race as poking fun of an extremist portion of a certain religion. I think the general contempt for that particular sect in most parts of the world that play this game leads people to not have quite as much hatred for it...but I do think it's a bit...off as an alliance name.

Grats on the protectorate though...the people behind the name must be pretty good if Atlantis was taking an interest.

hah thats a common misconception.
Jihad is actually a very mainstream part of Islam.
Jihad means a struggle, as my Paki brother from above mentioned.
It does mean holy war, but that was back in the days of the Prophet. A jihad can only be declared by Allah, so back when the Prophet was around, Allah gave him Jihads to carry out.
Jihad's larger and current meaning is that of a personal holy struggle, the internal struggle of a Muslim to better himself and stay on the path of righteousness. A Muslim struggle to say all of his prayers on time is expmelfing Jihad, as is one who goes out of his way to donate to charity amongst other things.
It common amongst extremists and those who do not know the religion very well to only categorize Jihad as a Holy War. Therefore it wouldnt be considered "racist"(prejudice would work better here because Islam is a religion not a race). And as Muslims, it is our duties to inform those who are not aware of its true meaning, because if those who are near to us are ignorant of parts of our religion, its really our fault for not informing them.

And yea, derka-jihad is from Team America, World Police, which was pretty racist.

I had no problem with it except for that particular reference, which I thought was the major point for founding this alliance. Now that I know it's not, I don't even have a slight problem with it, good luck to both of you .
