Man, they are starting to irritate me. All this vigor and vitriol over something that will likely be irrelevant by the time it hits PA. I mean, even if I WERE allowed to vote in the primaries, it might not even MATTER. Stupid primaries. :(

At least your delegates will be seated because you followed some arbitrary rules designed to give disproportionate amounts of primary/caucus power to some randomly selected states rather than the people. And assuming you're talking about the Democratic race, since the Republican one is essentially over, such votes very well could count if Hillary wins Texas and Ohio.

Well, my view was more on the primaries in GENERAL. Often they are entirely irrelevant by the time they get to PA.

Usually they are when they get to Florida as well.

Kind of like this year.

I live in Ohio, and I'm surprised we aren't being bombarded with annoying commercials yet. I'm not going to be able to get "Change" or "Commander-in-Chief" out of my head until May...

Speaking as a Hampshire guy, I find it entertaining that you all get so worked up about this.

the major argument against giving PA a greater role in the selection of a president:

You guys voted Rick Santorum into the House. Then you voted him into the senate. Twice.

"...what do you mean we're sharing the day with like 20 other states? And there are like 5 bigger than us? We'll sue you, California!"

what do you propose as the solution? I'm pretty disgusted with our primary process as well, but how else do the little states get a voice? There's really no easy answer, unless we do a house/senate style double election to determine the nominee or something.

Texas Democrat speaking: "Wait, you mean we're WORTH something despite the fact that this is a late primary and the fact the Republicans are most assuredly taking this state come November? EFF YEAH!"

Damn, I never knew you were a fellow Pennsylvanian, Opethian.

Now that I think about it, it makes sense, considering your nation name.

Yeah, the primaries suck around here. I'm not even going to bother to register for the primaries since ours is pretty much completely worthless.

Hey, when are our primaries? I'd like to get an absentee ballot if I still have time.

The primary here in PA is April 22. I believe the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is April 15. You need to have it back to them by the 18th.

I am actually somewhat glad that it looks like it might be over before our state gets to vote in the primary. For awhile, it was looking like it might all come down to Pennsylvania. That would have given us the horrifying prospect of being bombarded with radio and tv ads nonstop for 5 weeks between the time of the prior primary and ours. Living in Philadelphia, it would have also probably meant a traffic nightmare due to frequent rallies and appearances by the candidates. Still, I suppose it would be nice to be important for once.

Yeah, considering our state's past screw-ups (*cough* Rendell! *cough*), we need something to redeem ourselves.
