How come it is so stressful?
Also, do you know anything about USAF Military police?

Stress of being an ATC comes mostly from the realization that you are first on the !@#$ pole if something goes horribly wrong when you are on duty. If it concerns aircraft and any location remotely close to the airspace you oversee. But it's offset by the fact that the speciality being so small, that ATCs form a brotherhood of that like Airborne or Rangers and will cover and stick up for each other. (Specially when we have to humiliate the Flightline Boys in Base Sports!)

Pararescue. Green feet have all the fun.
IIRC, #2 is an AWACS job and #3 is fairly self-explanatory. I'd stick with one of those, as being the guy in the tower if a '22 farks up is not something I'd look forward to.

I think if I would join the military it would be in the air force, though only if I can become a fighter pilot, that would be awesome... though obviously it would be hard as hell to master. But I am not planning on joining.

airtraffic controlers have the highest suicide rate of all professions
I thought that was dentists?
I was thinking of cross-training into AWACS Duty after 4 years as an ATC though, mostly for my sanity.
