Once upon a time, three hundred and sixty five days ago to be exact, two folks met each other. A strong bond formed between these folks, for their people shared the same kind of spirit and courage. Allow us to never forget nor break this bond, that was created one year ago on Febrary 17, 2007:

Preamble
This document is a proposal of mutual defense between the Peliplaneetta and Nordreich to be approved by both parties.

Section 1
In the signing of this pact, it must be clear that both organizations will remain sovereign and independent. Both alliances and their members will always endeavor to be respectful towards members in of the other signatory alliance, treating with them as friends do.

Section 2
All parties shall, hitherto, be bound by this act to defend one another in the event that a member nation of either party is attacked by an outside power. Either side failing to do this is subject to consequences at any time, to be decided by the opposing side. If a signatory refuses to assist the other party in the event of a defensive war, this document can be immediately nullified. In the event of an aggressive war by either side, it is at the digression of the other party as to whether they participate or not.

Section 3
Either side may remove themselves peaceful from this according, giving the other side a 48 hour notification, the treaty will revert back down to a Non Aggression Pact, unless stated otherwise by either signatory. Neither party may issue a removal while a transgression is taking place.

Enacting Clause
This pact shall be enacted by the proper authorities of each alliance.

So began a long-lasting friendship between Finns and Nordlanders, that still exists to this day, between Norden Verein and Finnish Cooperation Organization, the successors of Nordreich and Peliplaneetta, in the form of the Pact of Steel (MADP) that the treaty was upgraded to. Hopefully this bond will stand for life, until we both perish and become part of the soil, on which we were born, on which we lived, and on which we built our empires.

That moment has not come, for we are still here. After a longer-than-a-year-long period full of wars, blocs, great wars, victories, break-ups, reformations, revolutions, prosperity, stagnation, and what not, we are still here. And we are still friends.

On my behalf, I can say I whole-heartedly trust Nordlanders, and I feel I am trusted as well, and that's what friends really are for, Trust. Our friendship has faced many crises, yet it has survived. We have never abandoned each other, and that tells something about our relations.

Note that the negative propaganda seen on the video aimed against the various alliances we've fought no longer reflects our feelings and attitudes today. Please do not take offense, CMEA & various leftist alliances.

If you're wondering what the Finnish chat logs in the middle of the video mean, they show plans for a revolution, which, altough never taking place, resulted in the internal division of the membership of FCO, and the resignations of the majority of the leadership, leaving the alliance to stagnate. If ever, FCO was a most unstable and unreliable alliance during that period. Yet, we were not abandonded. Neither did we abandon Norden Verein several months ago, when their existence was at stake.

We stand together today in celebration over the anniversary of this tried and true relationship. One year of friendship, of war, of trials, and of victory. The Nordland – Finnish bond is not one replicated easily, and not one that is fated to break as the result of rougher times or the necessity to take up arms to defend the other.

Together, as two alliances, we have stood strong. This is the consequence of a select few members who, throughout their course of time on the Planet, have held citizenship in both FCO and NoR/V. Thus, it is my honor to give this medal, commemorating the FCO-Nordland treaty, to the following individuals. They are both regular members who have engendered the bond between us, and the leaders of then and now who have helped to shape our friendship.

Diplomatically Nordreich and Norden Verein are one entity in two different forms, to us. The membership consists and is led by the roughly same nordlanders whom we befriended, hence FCO signed a treaty with Norden Verein, after Nordreich had disbanded.

I was stating that they have been members of one or the other. It's the same relationship, so the benefit carried over from NoR to NoV. It was less wordy than spelling out both alliances' names.
