I entirely feel bad about how abrupt this must seem to a lot of you and I feel bad about the lack of shoutouts and drama - and a little bit of shock glancing over the replies and not seeing any of the hate I expected from certain parties.

Some people have asked for a full story and why the fuck not: (short version)

I was told that my friends in Kashmir were being hit soon for the purpose of drawing in other alliances. I relayed this information to some people who could be trusted to relay this information quietly to both Kashmir and NSO (since NSO is allied/close to kash).

The next day, plans shifted to hitting NSO directly. In my foolish loyalty to a coven of former friends, I relayed this information directly to NSO's Emperor Joe Stupid who then copy/pasted the logs into the NSO government forums. TheListener then decided to sell me out to Non Grata as a mole in some attempt to spare NSO's life.

Given that I haven't seen NG hit NSO yet, I assume this was at least temporarily successful - so I guess I pseudo-achieved my goal of trying to protect/warn NSO, but not in the way that I necessarily intended.

Honestly, I guess I underestimated the hate that most of NSO arbitrarily holds for me. Internet friends are fickle and I entirely did not expect the response I got from them.

So am I angry at Oculus for trying to roll my friends? No, they're just playing the game.

Am I salty with Polaris for expelling me? Nah. It had to be done.

I hate to leave any place, game or geographic, angry. I feel like it's bad for your soul - It just sucks that the alliance that I literally stuck around in CN for, or rerolled for, or left other places to join ended up stabbing me in the back and finally killing my will to continue playing.

Anyways: Good luck Polaris - I like to think I left you better than I found you. Y'all are a righteous community and I genuinely regret betraying the trust. Grub will be a good replacement though.

Like I said, you did a great job at what I needed you to do.  Unfortunately you went above and beyond in the wrong direction.  Good luck to you wherever you may reroll.

edit:  forgot to mention.  You probably realize now that all of that you leaked was faked.

You felt you could come and go as you please and leverage your membership to us be demanding high level positions if you accept our membership. Happened on multiple occasions including the conversation you reference with Joe to return to us. You may feel it 'arbitrary' and 'held onto' - but it's all with reason from those who do, and often reminded not held. There are still some there who legit wish you were really back and staying.

You realize your actions of the last 24 hours cast a herculean amount of shade on what you're saying, don't you?

You've left NSO over 5 times in the past, what on earth made you think that any of the members would accept you with open arms, with an application post titled "I died for your sins" ?. You were fed false information because they had suspected you (and rightly so) of leaking information. This is precisely the reason you never made it anywhere in NSO. I couldn't trust you. You had like cyber ADD. You would start 3-4 different projects and leave them all unfinished, and you usually just ended up quitting NSO. The only reason i perceived this as a credible threat was because the plan you gave to Margrave made sense. It made too much sense for someone like you to come up with. Honestly i like you a lot Holton. You're a good person and I'm glad that you felt strongly enough for NSO that you risked everything for us to provide our allies with information you felt was accurate. I have no hard feelings towards you, but that clearly isn't reflected back. Good luck out there, whatever it is you decide to do. I'm sorry that it ended the way it did for you.

or you simply back pedaled and attacked a different AA to get the exact same results. Just remember you will always be the the little spoon.

Normally when these mole hunts are done, the leader of the alliance being fake targeted is informed so there is no overreaction leading to war if the info is indeed leaked.

Well, except for when a given alliance uses that information to screw with the alliance doing the hunt by not telling them they received info/telling the mole they are onto them.

So never act on credible intelligence until it's too late?

Kashmir believed itself to be under credible threat based on more than the word of a single man; NG hitting PM on the 17th didn't do anything for the credibility of this "smoke out" operation.

Combining that with SNX, another Doom Kingdom ally, getting hit just days later, and this story of mole hunting becomes thinner and thinner.

Polaris and its fellow conspirators created the environment for this war when they decided to get in bed with Methrage and his friends. That was an act I believed beyond the pale for NpO; I suppose I can still be surprised.

Am I 100% certain that the above is absolutely and in its entirety true? No. But as the Prince of Kashmir I have a responsibility to act in the best interests of our members.

If I'm wrong, Polaris had plenty of opportunities to approach me or SirWilliam diplomatically to reassure us of their good intentions. That they failed to do so does not fill me with confidence in their protestations of innocence.

I wasn't debating this, in fact, I was saying why they may have not told you up front lol. Edited by USMC123

I am only a member with literally no say in alliance affairs--I'm not that active other than doing my duty.  For myself, I wouldn't contact you because I simply wouldn't care to reassure you.
