So in case you don't know, or don't care, today was the day after Martin Luther King Jr's birthday I believe. So while the majority of us were at home relaxing, the politicians (who if elected have 4 years of relaxation to look forward too) were out working hard. The one who worked the hardest though was Obama.

So Obama, like most minorities, made the most of his status and rallied his fellow minorities. As a white male, I felt like this ostracized me from his campaign. I am sick of hearing this call for the end of racism, blacks and other minorities bonding together, and the general rallies. Believe me, in some areas it may be tough, but it is not as rampant as the 1960's, and the pro-minority race has gotten to a point where I'm being discriminated against. I think today Obama traded a lot of white voters for a lot of black voters. I for one, still think he's better then Hillary, but I am more for Edwards now.

So is there some point to this thread I am not seeing other than you apparently dislike his last name and/or ethnicity?

I don't dislike his ethnicity, I hate racists as much as the next person. I'm saying that I dislike his calls for blacks to "bond together" and the change they are going to make for the better of minorities. Frankly, I believe equal means no affirmative action, and race not even being a factor in anything at all.

This is nothing new. I've been saying this for months, it's getting more and more overt the further the campaign progresses.

oh hey, another mention of Barack Obama drawing attention to his middle name which happens to be the same as a dictator this country ousted.

No smearjob going on here, folks!

Seriously, don't you guys have anything other than the fact that he's got dark skin and a very common middle eastern middle name?

And as I have stated previously, does this mean I am a racist for teaching Jewish children Hebrew and about their culture?

And also again, with the middle name nonsense, it is really hard to think you were not just being snarky.

which would be a great idea if people of different races actually had equality of opportunity and an equal start in life.

As in general they do not, it's a bit of a moot point.

one more thing, if this article supposedly shows that Obama won't stop running his mouth about equality and civil rights, how come it contains the following statement:

Quote

Obama has also struggled for support among some African American political and opinion leaders, who have criticized him for not making civil rights issues a more central theme of his campaign.

Obama should not get office. He is too much of an islamic related person if you ask me.

The Black Bond thing does not bother me, I mean they are trying to unite by race, but if whites did that it would be racist. So lol kind of a topic that just doesn't solve itself.

I'm hoping this was sarcasm. It's hard to tell with text.

I am glad you can see sarcasm :). I still don't like him though, I would rather have someone like Edwards. Not Hillary or Obama though.

you're right. Publishing a newsletter filled with racist and homophobic filth for two decades pales in comparison to the heinous crime of having a middle name.

or to put it another way, you have absolutely nothing to counter what I just said, so you are going to declare victory and withdraw.

My point was that you were engaging in the same behavior that you were condemning. You responded by proving a perfect example of yourself doing just that. What more can I say. The words are right there.

I'm still confused. How is it smearing Ron Paul to point out something he did, namely publish a newsletter in which extremes of racism and homophobia appeared? How does that compare to those who are smearing Obama for having a middle eastern sounding middle name?

I assume of course that you hate the idea of the Bushes ever having office considering how they are "Islamic related" with the Saudi Princes. I know you are not saying Obama shouldn't be president because he was born in Indonesia to a father with a Muslim background; something he couldn't control

What are you talking about? I don't like politicians as much as the next guy, but being President is hardly relaxing. Have you seen the difference between Presidents coming in and then out of office? It's why I really don't begrudge Bush spending time on his ranch. Presidents work hard.

Furthermore, Obama is rallying minorities. Big whoop. Not much difference from him and Edwards trying to rally blue collar workers IMO.

Sick of hearing the call of the end of racism? How do you propose we draw attention to it? Because its still happening believe it or not. And what's wrong with people bonding together. Your choice of words is poor.

It is a smear when you point out what libertarians and libertarian candidates do.
It is not a smear when you just make up crap about people you do not like.

Do you not understand that yet?
