If Nicholas Van Wotsisface ascends to the role of Sheriff Fatman, s/he must appoint a new Nicholas. Since BAPS formed our forums have been a place where we would enjoy the craic and pass some time at work unwinding reading the forums and catching up. The general decline of CN has meant our community is in need of re-invigorating, and there is no better way to do that then form a new Alliance with our dearest Friends and Allies. Our new AA will continue in the finest BAPS traditions, traditions shared by those we join. We will always nuke you hard, nuke you until the end, and stand by our allies no matter what the cost. To all BAPSters past and present, it's been an honour and a priviledge to be part of our Alliance with you. While BAPS moves on to pastures new today, you will never be forgotten. [u][b]A Brief History of BAPS[/b][/u] [spoiler]BAPS took its first steps as a new AA in April 2007 under the protection of the one and only Goon Order of Neutral Shoving. Our founder Amp was a former GOON and they took us under their wing , helping us grow and prosper. We breached 1m NS just before our first military engagement, the UJW kicked off. LenDelMuerte tech raided a GGA nation and tensions on both sides used this to start possibly the greatest war that never was. The OOC incident precipitated a cowardly collapse of our coalition and after a couple of weeks of fighting we surrendered to Norden Verein who extorted unconscionable secret reps. BAPS lived on and continued to grow both ingame and as a community, but was always marginalised on a weakened black team, stigmatised by our GOON associations. ACDC another black alliance had major internal dramas, and seduced by the NS boost BAPS decided to take in a large portion of their members, this decision led directly , through a chain of events, to the BAPS War and our sentence of PZI. BAPS peaked at 2.2m NS in Jan 2008 immediately prior to the BAPS War. A lulzy ex ACDC element of BAPS abused their position of Team senator by sanctioning Mhawk, and Tumin our then newly elected MoFA colluded with the rogue senator in both the sanctioning and subsequent nuking of Mhawk. This was mana from heaven for a number of then Hegemony alliances, who had been looking for a reason to roll BAPS since the end of the UJW. Elysium was protected by Valhalla who leveraged the treaty web to set up a classic 20:1 curbstomp. BAPS had slipped into Peacemode prior to being attacked, and after refusing reps demands in the billions, on Jan 13th 2008 BAPS launched Operation Vuck Falhalla, a full out nuclear assault on Valhalla. BAPS was then sentenced to PZI by nowedge, and individual surrender terms were never granted. BAPS led by the immortal General Zico fought for 3 months before reaching effective ZI, and all nations were deleted in the coming months. On March 6th 2008 BAPS was granted peace on condition all nations had rerolled, and we started up on the Purple Team our AA having changed subtly from the short form, BAPS, to Boards Alliance of Protectorate States. BAPS started anew a much stronger alliance and community, and having learned the lessons of the past, we had determined to build a small tight knit alliance specialising in military excellence and preparation. BAPS was a part of the Pegasus Protectorate Bloc of the larger Purple Posiedon grouping, fighting at Posiedons request in the WotC, our only military victory at the time. BAPS then fought in Karma declaring on LoSS and Nemesis in defence of the Legion. Laterly we had our slots filled by TOP eventually surrendering only when all our allies had got peace. TOP famously tried to negotiate a no nuke policy to which we replied "you will have our answer at update!" Karma cost us about half our NS with a decline from @1.5m to @800k. BAPS rebuilt swiftly after Karma reaching a new all time high NS of 2.3m immediately prior to the BiPolar war. BAPS intially attacked Fark in a brief war that was peaced out after a couple of days as a result of NpO's Bipolar political disorder. As the focus of the war shifted BAPS attacked PC in defense of Valhalla and then Nor in defense of Invicta. The actions of the NpO had catastrophically altered the balance of power in the war, and BAPS found itself at war with 10 or so alliances, largely outmatched, but nevertheless giving a good account of ourselves. After just over 3 weeks, the support base for our side of the war had crumbled, and BAPS surrendered along with all her allies to the combined forces of the enemy. BAPS and allies were the last to surrender aside from the core TOP IRON TORN DAWN grouping. The war saw us slide from 2.3m NS to 900k NS over the duration. After BiPolar we once again grew above and beyond pre-war levels, joining the Duckroll Project in January 2011. We polished our nukes and concentrated on a period of growth and building for the next 12 months until the TOP/IRON NpO war started in Dec 2011. We peaked at an alltime high of 3mNS immediately before declaring war. We intially declared on Fark with our family in Olympus before the pair of us were countered by Sparta.
