From New Polar Order down in the sanctioned alliances seemed to have a good day. The Order of Light finally had a good day, I guess revamping everything is working out alright for them. NATO takes another big hit to their score, while Illuminati pulls farther ahead. Viridian Entente pulls to about half a point away from Mushroom Kingdom. Passes of the Day: Mostly Harmless Alliance Passes Sparta mistake but hell of a good job We gained like 2 points in a week when we recruited, but why would we want 400 members and a 5k Avg when we can have 280 loyal members and 9k Avg? This is one thing CSN have been working on, number of nations is easy Avg NS is the hard part, allot of respect for GPA who has the second highest number of nations but the highest Avg NS also well played to Iron

Kaiser
Because with 400 members, you can start thinking towards sanction, as well as growing those 400 into a 9k average.Average NS is the most bogus stat ever, unless you're an elitist alliance. If you're not, your first priority should be membership growth. Period. What if the alliance doesn't really care about a sanction and would rather not be looked at as 'that newb alliance'? Plus the fact is that Ns is far more important then membership.
Virillus
What if the alliance doesn't really care about a sanction and would rather not be looked at as 'that newb alliance'? Plus the fact is that Ns is far more important then membership. Some of our most contributive members are "newbs" That were recruited a month ago. In fact, one of our most influential members (internally and growth wise) as a less than month old nation. Members don't need NS to make major internal and FA contributions. We've lost nearly all the members we got in our last recruitment drive. We had, at our peak, 370 members. They just very quickly burnt away as inactives, because most of our recruits lose interest in the game after the first day. >_>

I had no idea. My point with the statement I quoted was that membership growth WAS our top priority since October. When the Asplosion happened, we had a more pressing situation to handle. We had to make sure the alliance didn't become unstable. It was just an unfortunate coincidence that that coincided with the purging of some 80 inactive nations. I believe, however, that if the Asplosion never happened, we would have been able to keep a large portion of the nations we lost due to purging. But that aside, today's been a bonza day for growth, especially for my nation. =D Edited January 23, 2008 by Great Lord Moth

Great Lord Moth
The RIAsplosion is my name for the crisis that occurred on November 28th, when several high-strength and high-profile members of the RIA, including three members of government, left the RIA. Chickenzilla
Was that during that 'merge'?
Great Lord Moth
No, it was some time after the PotD merge. One person left the alliance, and a bunch of people followed him. I like to think that the RIA was relieved of a good deal of its baggage when that happened. I took it all very personally. If you check, like, eight or ten pages back in this topic, you can find the point at which I pitched a tantrum on the whole thing. ;>_> Can't wait to see today's update. =D
