At best it's completely random and awkward in the context of the conversation.

At worst it's an attempt to make a subtle IC dig at an alliance in an OOC forum over an axiom used more than five years ago.

First it wasn't random, second it wasn't a dig, just something that I remembered when I saw shahenshah say that IRON was neutral, are you oversensitive today? :laugh:

We were certainly not neutral towards those who threatened us at the time. I do not know why people expected otherwise. Independence is IMO your ability to pursue w/e path you want, that includes entering the web and people you choose to hang out with. We were not really going to hang out with those who'd like to roll us at the time. Anyway, It makes you less neutral, but it does not necessarily reflects less independence as long as you maintain the choices.

There was no harm in trying to sell a merger to Jerdge, look at all that top tier potential! :P

The GPA is neutral [i]and[/i] independent then. [b]GPA: ahead of anyone(tm)[/b].
I too remember IRON preferring the term "independence" over "neutrality", although it's also true that IRON was mostly considered neutral, back in time (before allying with Pacifica), or at least I remember it like that.

I don't think that D34th was digging at anyone, anyway. Let's face it: he's just an oldie, like all of us.

So I had a 425º baking tray try to escape from me earlier tonight, but luckily my left index finger was hot on its trail and prevented this dastardly escape. So if you want someone to brag about your alliance's exploits tonight, you'll have to do it yourself in your comments below.

Is this from the beginning of the month? Our internal tracker shows 1005 transactions since 9/1. No doubles, but that includes incoming tech as well, so it might be 300 new outgoing deals I guess.

I've compared my list to any aid deals that involve the word "Umbrella" (not case sensitive), and located 906 approved or pending aid deals involving your alliance. There were about a dozen aid deals that expired because they were never accepted; this would not include any that were manually cancelled prior to the ten-day expiration. There were a further 6 aid deals involving your applicant AA that I don't include, and 2 involving the AA of "Umbrella co". There was also one aid deal with the word "Umbrella" in the description that did not involve your alliance. There were also about 3 deals that my program didn't pick up on - not sure why, and since that's only a 0.3% margin of error, I'm not going to bust my brain to fix it.

The aid table I posted above only show accepted aid deals. The number I quoted above (906) would be different from that (836), because I expanded the current search criteria to include pending deals, to see if that could account for the difference. There were 45 pending outgoing aid offers previously, and an unknown number of pending incoming offers. So overall, it makes sense.

The aid stats from two days ago only shows approved outgoing aid; both internal and external. Incoming aid is not reflected.

I don't know how your program works, but if it's counting all aid offers that are sent, regardless of whether they're accepted or not, that could be where the difference came from.
